Marked in Flesh (Others #4) by Anne Bishop [Start Date: March 08, 2016]

I love the series. I'm liking this book even better the second time!

Exactly half way!

Then you definitely should start ASAP ;)

Sorry, I'm just so frustrated. Because it's a hardcover. I wanted to have a complete set. Surely, as a book lover, you understand. :o)

lol I do understand! Fingers crossed you'll find in no time :)

I'm half way through #3 now. Enjoying it. I really like Monty, since the first book, and now I'm even more worried about him than I was in the previous two book.
What did you think of Simon flipping out?

You mean when he tried to bite Mary Lee and Ruthy? I like how these characters are portrait, they don't have a problem eating the humans who have done something wrong but he flips out when he hears the babies are killed like that.

Nope! Ill finish it tonight not much left. Im dreading the maket scene, if i remember correctly one of the crows dies.

1. How do you interpret bison mounds and small wolf paws and the big one?
2. How stupid can these human be? Do they really think they can kill the bison and get away with it? And the Gold they've been speaking in to get from the river...
3. The intuit with Joe told him not to accept the cattle meat from that human, any idea why?
4. Vladimir is thinking the timing of hope's vision, Meg's dream and the actual time of the bison slaughter which had been daybreak doesn't fit What do you think?
5.what do you think of hope's painting with old woman cards with Simon and Meg on them? Trail blazer Cards?
6. I'm thinking there's too much talk of bison fat, there must something significant about what happens either with that girl or the soaps and candles she makes with it. What do you 2?
7. Will Jane's vision of a few candles around Thasia come true?
8. One last thing, I hope Meg doesn't cut on her jaw!

Maybe I'll just cancel the order and pick both up tonight when I go into town for my cake decorating class. Or maybe I'll start listening to this one on audio.

Oh, no! That's awful, Lisa Kay! I hope it's just a suspicion of identity theft and not an actual problem. I have a friend who went through that and it was such a mess. She STILL has the odd account pop up from time to time.

Thanks for the DQ's ShoSho!

1. How do you interpret bison mounds and small wolf paws and the big one?
A. I really don't know...yet. I have a wild guess, but it's all speculation as far as the little paws and the mounds are concerned. I think the big paw definitely represents an Elder.
2. How stupid can these human be? Do they really think they can kill the bison and get away with it? And the Gold they've been speaking in to get from the river...
A. I think greed makes a stupid man even more stupid. Initially I thought they were trying to drive out the Intuits or those providing sanctuary to the cassandra sangue, but now I'm wondering if was a distraction. Perhaps the slaughter is part of a bigger plan. Regarding the gold: what good is gold when the terra indigene eliminate humanity's access to water, or other life sustaining elements?
3. The intuit with Joe told him not to accept the cattle meat from that human, any idea why?
He probably recalls the tainted meat in previous months.
4. Vladimir is thinking the timing of Hope's vision, Meg's dream and the actual time of the bison slaughter which had been daybreak doesn't fit. What do you think?
I think the bigger danger is yet to come and that the slaughter is a clue, not the actual event. It will be interesting to find out.
5. What do you think of Hope's painting with old woman cards with Simon and Meg on them? Trail blazer Cards?
I LOVE that! I have no idea what it means, especially since the images were of a younger Simon and Meg...maybe they were destined to meet? Is Hope's gift different somehow? Is she seeing and combination of the future and the past?
6. I'm thinking there's too much talk of bison fat, there must something significant about what happens either with that girl or the soaps and candles she makes with it. What do you 2?
A. Hmm...something is definitely up with that. I'll have to keep reading to find out. I don't trust the girl though. She seems pretty focused on herself and her wants/needs. Kinda like the HFL????MWAHAHAHA.....!!! Sorry...got carried away for a second.
7. Will Jane's vision of a few candles around Thasia come true?
A. That would be one heck of a cliffhanger, right?
8. One last thing, I hope Meg doesn't cut on her jaw!
A. Isn't it amazing to hear Meg's responses to Hope and the other girls? She's grown tremendously since the first book. Who would've thought she'd be such a strong role model? She's certainly been through a lot to get where she is today. I think Trailblazer is an awesome name for her.
ShoSho - THANKS AGAIN for the awesome DQ's!!! : )

Thanks for the DQ's ShoSho!"
You're very welcome :)

I hope it's just the suspicion and not the real thing! Identity theft is very scary!
Did you get your book?

#1.I agree the big paws are the elders .What is your wild guess?
#2.Yes a distraction ! It seems the people from the other continent (Cel-Romano) are not thinking of people of Thasia . It seems they want to sacrifice people in Thasia to get what they want in Cel-Romano.
#3.I thought there was more to it but can't guess what!
#4.I agree
#5.Hmm interesting theory about Hope's gift! I like it!
#6. You're right I didn't trust her either.
#7.Yes
#8.Me too

For centuries, the Others and humans have lived side by side in uneasy peace. But when humankind oversteps its bounds, the Others will have to decide how much humanity they’re willing to tolerate—both within themselves and within their community...
Since the Others allied themselves with the cassandra sangue, the fragile yet powerful human blood prophets who were being exploited by their own kind, the delicate dynamic between humans and Others changed. Some, like Simon Wolfgard, wolf shifter and leader of the Lakeside Courtyard, and blood prophet Meg Corbyn, see the new, closer companionship as beneficial—both personally and practically.
But not everyone is convinced. A group of radical humans is seeking to usurp land through a series of violent attacks on the Others. What they don’t realize is that there are older and more dangerous forces than shifters and vampires protecting the land that belongs to the Others—and those forces are willing to do whatever is necessary to protect what is theirs
