Remi | 2 comments Hello everyone!

I became a member a little while ago and I thought it is time to introduce myself.

I'm currently 21 years old and hadn't read that much LGBT literature yet until this year. The first one I picked up in this genre was Carol by Patricia Highsmith. Afterwards someone suggested me to read The Song of Achilles and this evening I finished Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Sáenz.
I must say that these three books were some off the best books I've read in a while and I'm eager to dive further into this genre!
I've read some other books too from different genres (historical fiction, fantasy). My interests are pretty widespread! I read books in my own language (Dutch) but I like reading in English as well.

I currently live in Belgium near Ghent where I'm in college.
I applied to go study in Dublin for a semester next year and I'm still waiting for my approval!

For the rest I like cats, tea and historical television series!

Welcome Remi!

I love cats myself (always have one or two), and I'm glad you've been enjoying some of the books that have come up. I quite liked Carol as well! I haven't gotten round to the other two yet, but I've heard they're fantastic.

Best of luck with the study semester in Dublin - it sounds exciting! A good friend of mine did a study semester in Ireland while she was in college. Not only did she learn a lot - she also made a number of lifelong friends.

Welcome Remi! It that short for a name? You picked some fine books to read.

Studying in Ghent and Dublin - I'm jealous. I wished I had explored the world before starting college right of high school. I think my life would have been a lot different.

What do you study?

Remi | 2 comments Thank you!

Today I got an email and the chance that I will be selected to go to Ireland is pretty high! There are only two spots available and three students applied, and because my grades are the best, I'm on the top of their list :D
I study finances and assurances, not the most exciting subject according to others, but I like it :')

And Remi is my full name, but it comes from the old Latin name Remigius. It is also connected to the city of Reims in France, the capital of the old Celtic/Gallic people "the Remi"!

As I recall there was a Gallic/Belgic Celtic tribe called the Remi. I had some of their coins.

What a great name!!
