April is a month for celebrations. We all know of April Fools, but there are so many more celebrations in April. Have you ever heard of the International Snailpapers Day, Chocolate-Covered Cashews Day or the International Marconi Day? No? Well, those are only a few of those you might have missed. So join in and let's celebrate April!

ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý

ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý

ÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌýÌý

This is an optional mini challenge for our UNO players.

â— Books started after April 13 and read between April 13 - April 30 count.
â— Books started before April 13th do not count
(start of challenge times under spoiler)
(view spoiler)

â— As a team, get "BINGO" by reading books for five squares horizontally, vertically, or diagonally to create a line (there are 12 possible lines)
â— Only one book per square (so one book may be used for more than one "line")
â— For each line completed, your team receives a "BINGO Bonus" of being able to chose one card in any April hand that you can claim double points for
â— Books used for BINGO do not need to be separate books for what you are claiming for your UNO hands
â— The usual book length rules apply,
â— Team spreadsheets have been updated with a BINGO tab so that you can track your books and claim your bingo lines

Suzanne | 2453 comments I guess I'm "that person" with the first question :)

For National Letter Writing Day: Would long, informative emails work, or do they need to be actual letters?

Someone has to be first :)

In this case they need to be physical letters, I will accept postcards though as they still gets sent in the mail.

message 8: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 2453 comments Ok - that makes sense and fits more with the intent of the day! Thanks for the quick answer! I started reading a book today and Chapter 2 was like 20 pages of emails - so I thought I might as well ask :) Pretty sure it also has vampires in it though so it'll count for something or another!

Jessica | 317 comments For Adopt A Greyhound Month, does the book need to be centered around the dog? Or does a dog just need be mentioned (the main character has a dog that he mentions several times).

Somewhere in between. The dog don't need to be the main focus of the book. But it needs to be a part of the story. For example a scene where the MC is playing with the dog/walking the dog or interacts with it in another way.

Hope that makes sense.

I have a book where the MC is hand writing letters for an assignment. Does it count if the letters are not mailed?

It still counts, the MC is still writing the letters.

message 20: by Jessica (new)

Jessica | 317 comments Can we only claim double points on one card per hand. Example: We have 3 colored cards and 1 Wild card in hand 14. Can we claim double points for all 4 cards in the same hand?

message 21: by Karen ⊰✿, Avaricious Reader (new)

Karen ⊰✿ | 3766 comments Yes the hand doesn't matter. So if you have 3 cards to claim double points on, and they are all in the one hand, that is ok

message 23: by Bebe20018 (new)

Bebe20018 | 329 comments For Holy Humor Day - Read a book with humor as main page genre. Does this mean that the very first listing should be humor or can it just be listed on the genre page maybe 6-7 listings down?

No, it doesn't need to be the first genre listed, it needs to be on the main page - the one visible with the book, blurb, reviews etc.

No they don't need to be trained, but they do need to work as chefs. And both Fletcher and Gin does (a secondary job, but they still work as it). So go ahead and use the book. :)

handyman definition: a person able or employed to do occasional domestic repairs and minor renovations

So I would say so

I just went to that website to try it out so I will know how to use it in the future. It says that Pastel Orphans is 62.6% black. At the bottom, you need to uncheck where it says to exclude the background color for it to show up.

I didn't even notice, I was surprised thinking that it thought it was all brown. I was on my tablet so have to scroll for those checkboxes and completely forgot to do that!
