Emma Jaye | 3695 comments This is a genre specific group. In joining this group you have agreed TO READ AND REVIEW ANY ALLOCATED BOOK within the set 12 week limit.

Allocation is entirely random and there will NOT be any rearranging of the listing to accommodate preferences. The ONLY circumstance in which you may duck out of giving a review is if YOU provide a stand-in reviewer.
Let’s be honest here even within the same genre, we don’t all like the same things but we all want reviews. The only way this group can function is if we trust each other to behave honourably. And it IS perfectly possible to give a fair-minded review of a text that does not coincide with our normal choice of reading matter. If you need a few hints/tips, please see this thread:
/topic/show/...

Make sure you have an author profile set up before you join and that your book is available for sale on amazon (not pre-0rder).

Please let me know as you sign up if you have been reviewed by, or have reviewed another author in the group. It is permissible to review an author more than once if a different book is available, but reciprocal reviews within the group are strictly prohibited.

Your group moderator will be
K.A. Krisko

Joe Jackson (shoelessauthor) I'd like to join with my second novel, White Serpent, Black Dragon. Even though it's the second book in the series, it's stand-alone and readers will be able to pick it up and get right into the action.

Elizabeth Johnson | 86 comments I'd like to join with Sebastian 2: Dark Times Arising Sequel to Sebastian: The life of Sebastian and Hanna Green I think it can be read as a stand alone, there are references to what happened in book 1 to help the reader along. Sebastian 2: Dark Times Arising Sebastian 2 Dark Times Arising by Elizabeth Johnson

Emma Jaye | 3695 comments Welcome aboard E.P. Joe and Elizabeth.

Could everyone declare, as they join up, if they have (or not) reviewed or been reviewed by anyone else in the round. Its a lot easier for me to sort out the order as people sign up along rather than fiddle around later.

Many thanks!

Hi, I'd like to join with "The Temptation of Dragons. I have not reviewed/been reviewed by the three authors already on the list.

E.P. | 28 comments I haven't reviewed or been reviewed by anyone who's posted so far.

message 8: by Emma (new)

Emma Jaye | 3695 comments Thanks E.P.

I'll add you now Chrys

A.A. Bavar (aabavar) | 90 comments Hi, I'd like to join with:
Book: Az - Revenge of an Archangel
Author: A.A. Bavar

I've been reviewed Joe Jackson in another group but haven't reviewed any of the listed authors. Thanks.

message 10: by Joe (new)

Joe Jackson (shoelessauthor) I reviewed AA's "Az - Revenge of an Archangel" in the last Fantasy round.

Just FYI, anyone who has already reviewed "White Serpent, Black Dragon" can either review the first book in the series, Salvation's Dawn, or the next one, Serpents Rising (which is due out in a few days) at their discretion, if necessary.

message 11: by Emma (new)

Emma Jaye | 3695 comments Thanks A.A and Joe, I'll keep you two apart.

message 12: by Dan (new)

Dan Gillis | 59 comments I am excited to request a spot in the group! Looking forward to the reads.

Sapling: The Blade of Ahtol

message 13: by James (new)

James Hockley (hockleyjames) | 38 comments Count me in!
Author: James Hockley
Book: Fear's Union

FYI I am currently reading and reviewing E.P. Clark's book for another group, so if you could avoid allocating me that one, that would be appreciated.

message 14: by Emma (new)

Emma Jaye | 3695 comments Welcome aboard James, and yep I can sort that clash out.

message 15: by James (new)

James Hockley (hockleyjames) | 38 comments Much appreciated!

message 16: by Scott (new)

Scott Spotson (scottspotson) At the risk of bringing in my baggage with me, I do see that there are relatively few conflicts for me here, with seven applicants already enlisted. I have reviewed Joe Jackson before, but not the book he has currently listed here. And Chrys has reviewed me before, but not the book I'm offering. The other five I have not interacted with before.

This is not a pure fantasy book but it does have fantasy (magic) elements as an urban fantasy.

Delusional

Again I'm happy to bow out if I cause too many conflicts.

Kim | 15 comments Path UnchosenTruth Unveiled: Daughter of Ravenswood Book 2I'd like to join please. My books are urban fantasy rather than pure fantasy - is that okay? I am new to the group and have not yet reviewed anyone here. Thank you :) My books are Path Unchosen and Truth Unveiled - books one and two in my Daughter of Ravenswood series.

message 19: by Joe (new)

Joe Jackson (shoelessauthor) Hi Kim,

Just a quick question to help get the ball rolling: can readers read and review Book 2 without having read Book 1? If not, it may be difficult to go with that one out of sequence. If so, you can pick whichever one you'd rather get reviews for (which looks like Book 2 since it has only a couple of reviews versus over 60 for Book 1).

message 20: by Emma (new)

Emma Jaye | 3695 comments Welcome Kim.

As to your question Joe, in other previous rounds, some members have added a short synopsis of previous books when sending their work so readers can understand the 'up till now' situation, but reviewers are not obliged to read any additional material.
Many people download the books they read in the group via KU, so that information wouldn't be available to them.

message 21: by Joshua (new)

Joshua Cook | 23 comments I'd like to join with: Bridgefinders

message 22: by Emma (new)

Emma Jaye | 3695 comments welcome aboard Joshua, we now have our ten members. I'll be sorting out the order in about 12 hours time, so if anyone has a connection with any of the other authors in this group, now is the time to declare it.

I will not be a happy bunny if I have to re-do the order because someone has forgotten they have already reviewed or been reviewed by another member.

There is a very short prologue in Truth Unveiled which quickly introduces the what happened in book one. I've aimed to make the second book readable as a stand alone.

Please remember the commitment you are making to your fellow group members. If you pull out after the start date for any reason it is the other members who will be faced with the problem of finding a replacement, or missing out on reviews, through no fault of their own. Please don’t ask the moderators to chase after replacements as we just don’t have the time.

It is the responsibility of the author to get their book to their reviewer in a format the reviewer can manage. Everyone must be able to accept PDF. There are no set dates for the start of each round. You can each work at your own pace, within the limits of the round deadlines.

When you have posted your reviews, please post the three links to your reviews in this thread.

All reviews must be posted to GR, Amazon .com and Amazon.co.uk.

Postings to any other sites are by agreement by both author and reviewer.

If I’ve missed something that results in you being asked to review someone who has already reviewed you, please let me know asap.

To exchange book files, my advice is to use PM to give email addresses to each other (save the chance of spammers getting your addies from this open forum). I'll stay with you until your mod takes over as your group moderator. Happy reviewing, everyone :)

message 26: by Joshua (new)

Joshua Cook | 23 comments Just to be clear, if I get a book early for a round can I go ahead and read/review?

message 27: by Emma (new)

Emma Jaye | 3695 comments Yes, the round times suggested are the maximums.
You can also review your four allocated books in any order you like. Please don't hang around waiting for a book to be sent by an author if you already have another of your four ready and waiting.

if any of you have a KU account, feel free to spread a little author love and download via that.

Some people read faster than others, taking 12 weeks is fine, but the faster the group is completed, the quicker the group mod is freed up to take on another group.
