I've already read: The Perks of being a Wallflower, The Great Gatsby, and To Kill A Mockingbird, and let me just say they are amazing books. This list is amazing, and I think I'll read The Catcher in the Rye and Peter Pan. Also the whole concept of reading all the books mentioned in The Perks of Being a Wallflower is just hands down genius.

Kristie | 5897 comments Thanks! Welcome to the challenge Gabby!

message 6: by Amy (new)

Amy | 3 comments If you've already read some of them, do they count? Or would we need to re-read in the 3 month time period?

message 7: by Kristie, Moderator (Retired) (new)

Kristie | 5897 comments The goal is to read as many as you can in the 3 months, but you can mark them as read just to keep track or do a reread.

message 8: by Jordan (new)

Jordan Michaels (jemsbooks) I've put the list here, will come back and mark them as I read them. I read Catcher in the Rye several years ago. Loved it. I will probably put that to the back of the list in my head because I have read it already. I've read To Kill a Mockingbird as well. Interesting to see books I have read on a challenge list ha ha.

Kristie | 5897 comments You're cruising right along, Arwen! What did you think of the first two books you read for the challenge?

message 41: by Arwen (new)

Arwen | 11 comments I loved perks of being a wallflower. I found catcher in the rye ok, apart from taking a thorough dislike to Holden. I am finding the fountainhead an almost impossible read. I am going to put it down and carry on with Gatsby. I don't want this one book to slow me right down. I can come back to it.

message 42: by Kristie, Moderator (Retired) (new)

Kristie | 5897 comments Good plan. I haven't read Gatsby in years, but I recall liking it.

message 50: by Joe (new)

Joe Joule | 5 comments Only just discovered this; it is such a good challenge. Kudos to whoever created it!

I have already read >The Great Gatsby (one of my favourites)
>To Kill a Mockingbird (enjoyable)
>The Perks of Being a Wallflower (read twice because was so good!)

Only just finished The Catcher in the Rye which i can't say i enjoyed at all really. I think the themes passed over my head and i couldn't really relate to Holden either. Is that just me or does it require a second reading to understand his perceptions clearer?

What would others recommend to read next off the list?
