So, I'm curious to see if there are many good books on what I'm calling, for lack of a better term, "suburban fantasy". That is, fantasy that takes place in a suburban neighborhood, This is in contrast to urban fantasy, which I usually picture taking place in a large city.
I'm thinking of novels like Michael Swanwick's "The Iron Dragon's Daughter", Stephen King's "It", Dan Simmons' "Summer of Night" or the "Shadows over Main Street" anthology. Or even something like "Stranger Things".
I'm intrigued by the idea of a fantastic setting overlaid onto this most mundane aspect of our world. Even more mundane, I feel, than the cities of urban fantasy since the average city is still eclectic enough that the fantastic elements seem slightly more plausible.
