Char | 17383 comments Our group listens sort of faded out, but we know some of you love them and with more moderators it should be easier for us to bring this feature back. With that in mind, here's a place to list your nominations for our Group Listen for October!

Nate (the_enobee) | 147 comments Cool! I'll nominate Turn of the Screw by Henry James. This is readily available on Overdrive, so hopefully is easy for everyone to procure.

I am going to change my suggestion to something that hopefully, your library or overdrive has. how about Riding the Bullet hopefully, if people can get it cheaper or free we can get more people to participate in the listens. Nate, I think your suggestion is in the public domain so that's great too :) Riding the Bullet by Stephen King

Jack (jackherbst) Sorry, pretty new to the group. What are group listens?

kathleen kilburn | 5 comments Stephen King's Blood and Smoke. 1408 is so much better even than the decent movie made from it, and In the Deathroom is one of the most chilling things I've ever heard.

Hi, Jack! A group listen is where we listen to an audiobook as a group. We will be doing them monthly.

As we listen throughout the month, participants pop in and discuss the story, just as we do with group reads.
Prefacing our posts with our percentage, chapter number or page number, we hide our posts within spoiler tags so that plot points don't get spoiled for anyone.

Feel free to ask if you have any more questions!

I nominate The Bleeding Season by Greg Gifune.

I nominate The Troop by Nick Cutter.

Mike Wallace | -85 comments I just saved The Weird Company: The Secret History of H.P. Lovecraft's Twentieth Century to my wish list. It sounds pretty cool. What's spookier than the mythos of H.P. Lovecraft?

If this hasn't been done before, that is. I really enjoyed it. Would be a great October listen.

I liked that one too. Plus Glen is a nice guy. :)

Yes, he is a nice guy too! Hi, Charlene! This is my super busy season, so not on here as much as I'd like to be! Busy season = mostly audiobooks.

Empress Reece (Hooked on Books) (empressreece) | 86 comments Where Darkness Dwells by Glen R. Krisch This sounds great! I'll second or third it...

Char, did you listen to the audio? Just wondering if the narrator was any good?

Wow, I can SO relate to that! Where I get buried with copy editing or other real-life things, audiobooks are my only outlet for choosing what I read, and that's happened a lot this year.

Given my participation level of late, I feel bad about nominating something, so I'll chime in with "me too" for Where Darkness Dwells. I've been meaning to read some of his work.

message 17: by Steven (new)

Steven (tbones) | 133 comments Stephen King's The Mist in 3D Sound is awesome for this time of the year :)

message 18: by Alabama (new)

Alabama Vee (alabamavee) | 122 comments Stephen King The Mist or Riding the bullet would be great as I can get for free but also never read any Glen r Krisch so could fancy that too

You're welcome!

I second The Turn Of The Screw. But I might listen to the others if I can find them on Overdrive. :)
