Melodie (melodieco) | 5280 comments Would agree on the Plum books. Haven't read any of the others except the Castle books and wouldn't consider those "bumbling".

Kelly Klepfer (kellyklepfer) | 1 comments Out of the Frying Pan Definitely bumbling but not professional detectives.

Beverly (bjbixlerhotmailcom) | 2332 comments Stephanie Plum is definitely a bumbler.
However, Flavia DeLuce is anything but bumbling--sharp, clever, and intuitive.
Nikki Heat is a professional, bonafide New York city police detective. She never bumbles.

message 5: by Sally (new)

Sally Carpenter | 62 comments Nikki Heat is sharp, bright and competent--not a bumbler at all. Maybe they were thinking of the Jameson Rook character, but he really isn't a bumbler either, just more naïve.

Beverly (bjbixlerhotmailcom) | 2332 comments Richard Castle, from the TV series, might be considered a bit of a bumbler, but he isn't in the Heat series he supposedly pens, Jameson Rook his alter ego is. And I agree, Rook isn't really much of a bumbler.

Pat Cray-Hollis | 66 comments Stephanie Plum series are definitely bumbler but the rest are not.
