I've got to finish up my current book, then I'm reading Hard to Let Go. I am looking forward to Kat's and Beckett's story and getting more clues as to who set this whole thing up.

Chapter 5

I started reading tonight but got distracted by some family business. I'll try to get more in tomorrow, but we're going to my mother's to watch election coverage. So, my reading may be limited.

I'm just in chapter 2 and am concerned about a recurring theme of willingly breaking confidentiality oaths and rules. It's funny but I am less concerned with the way the crew is taking the law into their own hands than I am with their willingness to share information they've sworn not to.

I haven't started yet, but I see no reason these guys should consider themselves bound by any confidentiality agreement they signed. They were set up, framed and railroaded. The agreement they signed wasn't to protect them. It protected the baddies who did this to them.

It's not just the team themselves. It's also the people around them. You'll know what Lara is talking about when you start reading.

well I'm listening with 1.4x speed and yesterday I listened for a few hours while I was working.

On chapter 22 now (view spoiler)[ it's really bothering me that Emily had a big family but none of them show up for the funeral ,only the team and their women are there. It seems that author couldn't write around the family being there!! And Cole being there ....

So, I'm in chapter 6, (view spoiler)[and I'm amazed at how self-absorbed these two are. I don't dislike them, but their heads are really stuck up their behinds. Then there is the whole, "I'm on the pill so I'm safe" crap. Ugh, I can't believe she used that here. And I'm waiting for something bad to happen to the dog while they're busy screwing around. Sigh. I had big problems with Kat showing up unexpectedly and having knowledge and confidential data that could help them. This coincidence didn't work for me!
The "Cole plot" didn't work for me either! NOT ONE BIT! especially his shooting and demise at the cemetery. A stalker that believes they belong together wouldn't start shooting from the tree lines. He would want something more personal. He would get closer.
And don't get me started on the fact that Manny's family weren't at the funeral. They were showed in the last book as this big happy and close family. Wouldn't they want to attend their cousin/nephew funeral?
And then Kat's and Beckett's inner thought got on my nerves.
Plus the audio on its normal speed was torture and I had to use 1.4x speed.

The reason I'm giving this 2 stars instead of 1 is that I enjoyed some of the romance. (hide spoiler)]

I was going to read today, then my grandson took a header and got a small cut on the top of his head. We had Grammy and Nathan time, went out to lunch and to the beach. I told him his mom would kill me if he got his head wet - he didn't. Only got to chapter 2.

I hope it's too painful for him. Do you have him everyday?

He has a very hard head and the cut wasn't deep, just bled a lot. I only get him when school is out early, teacher free days and when he stays home from school.

That's nice .My mom loves it when my nieces and nephew stay with her.

I'm just starting chapter 9. Work and life have taken over this month and I've managed a fraction of the reading I'm used to. Tonight I rested due to having a migraine all day, then had to complete some work before getting to read.

I wish this book were more exciting and less cliched. I'm not thrilled with Kat's situation (view spoiler)[with her ex being a stalker (hide spoiler)] as a plot element. So, that doesn't help me get into the story either.

ShoSho, I'm holding off reading your end-of-book spoiler until I'm done. So far I don't think it's one of the better books in the series either.

Yes don't read until you're done. There are real spoilers in it.
I hope you like it more than I did.

I'm on chapter 15 and I agree, not a great book. Please tell me that everything gets wrapped up. I don't think I can read another one.

After reading the blurbs for the last novellas, I don't see that they add to this series at all. The plot arc was wrapped in Hard to Let Go and I'm done.

Yes I feel like I m done too. But aa my library has it i feel compelled to read it!lol

I just finished and agree that I was underwhelmed. Things are wrapped up in this book, but there was a lot of coincidences.

ShoSho, I agree with you 100% about the Cole situation. When it happened I wondered what the heck was going on. It was ridiculous.

Plus, I thought that (view spoiler)[Kat and Jeremy being shot (hide spoiler)] was gratuitous. Perhaps it partially served to get Beckett to admit his feelings, but I also felt it was unnecessary to go so far. (view spoiler)[And there was no good reason for Jeremy to be shot at all. (hide spoiler)]

Just finished and I loved it, looks like I'm in the minority here, lol! I appreciate the way the author answered my questions re Kaine and Merritt and how they got involved with eachother. ; )
