Most of the ones Meme mentioned are gay male?
I'd like to nominate Girl Mans Up by M-E Girard.
All Pen wants is to be the kind of girl she’s always been. So why does everyone have a problem with it? They think the way she looks and acts means she’s trying to be a boy—that she should quit trying to be something she’s not. If she dresses like a girl, and does what her folks want, it will show respect. If she takes orders and does what her friend Colby wants, it will show her loyalty. But respect and loyalty, Pen discovers, are empty words. Old-world parents, disintegrating friendships, and strong feelings for other girls drive Pen to see the truth--that in order to be who she truly wants to be, she’ll have to man up.

Santosh, because we invite authors to list and advertise their books on their own here within the group and support them in that way it's kind of unusual to invite an author to promote their own book here on the group nomination thread. Kaje might want to weigh in here differently but I don't think we've had an author put up their own book but these are newer threads that have been established due to group interest in monthly group reads so I'm not sure if we've ever addressed this question as mods before.
Would it be cheeky to nominate my own book? lol My sci-fi series, Shiva XIV, has a leading protagonist who is both transgender and intersex. Also, I have a few side characters who are gay and bi. Book 1:

In the past we actually decided not to let authors nominate their own books, but this month I think we can grandfather in the two above. I'll put Santosh's book into the poll.
Lyra, is it okay to just read your first book as a stand alone? We don't usually read series because with only a month a single book is enough to get through.

When the Moon Was Ours follows two characters through a story that has multicultural elements and magical realism, but also has central LGBT themes—a transgender boy, the best friend he’s falling in love with, and both of them deciding how they want to define themselves.
To everyone who knows them, best friends Miel and Sam are as strange as they are inseparable. Roses grow out of Miel’s wrist, and rumors say that she spilled out of a water tower when she was five. Sam is known for the moons he paints and hangs in the trees, and for how little anyone knows about his life before he and his mother moved to town.
But as odd as everyone considers Miel and Sam, even they stay away from the Bonner girls, four beautiful sisters rumored to be witches. Now they want the roses that grow from Miel’s skin, convinced that their scent can make anyone fall in love. And they’re willing to use every secret Miel has fought to protect to make sure she gives them up.

Anything we haven't already read is welcome - it need not be a new release. Check our book-of-the-month bookshelf /group/books... if you are wondering whether a book has already been read by the group.
Please post a link to the book, copy the blurb if possible, and give us a few words about why you think this would be a good choice. If it has edgy or potentially 16+ content please also note that - we'd be happy to have it on the list, but want members to be aware. Remember that books do have to be appropriate for an under-18 readership.
