K.A. Jordan (kajordan) | 3042 comments I've been busy, thinking about how the election has an unexpected ending.

And I've been blogging about it.

We can argue about it here, or there:

The main ones can be found by following this link:

PS -start at the bottom and work up.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Don't worry about me, I don't need a safety pin, a safe space, or a warm glass of milk, cookie or a blanket.

Let's chat.

Notice that I've been very careful to keep from endorsing a candidate, mainly because it doesn't matter any more. I'm trying to stay neutral and intellectual and discuss it as dispassionately as humanly possible.

This is all about dealing with what IS and what we can do with the current state of affairs.

Bunker up - hide out - stay the course - what's it gonna be for you?

The end of the world as we know it? Hell, no, unless you think the end of the world is announced by the circus coming to town. The party is just starting, and it will be much more entertaining than if that dull crook Clinton were elected.

JUST A REMINDER:
ROBUST IS A SPACE WHERE YOU CAN SAY WHATEVER YOU LIKE. IT IS NOT A SAFE SPACE. THERE ARE MODERATORS HERE ONLY BECAUSE GOODREADS DEMANDS THE NAME OF WHOEVER IS RESPONSIBLE. WE DON'T MODERATE ANYTHING, WE DON'T PROTECT ANYONE, WE DON'T ENFORCE ANY VIEWPOINT. SAY WHATEVER YOU PLEASE. IT'S ALL GRIST TO THE MILL. OF COURSE, THE REVERSE ALSO APPLIES. IF YOU SAY SOMETHING STUPID AND GET SAVAGED FOR IT, YOU'RE ON YOUR OWN. YOU CAN SAY WHATEVER YOU WANT, BUT YOU MUST OWN WHAT YOU SAY. CAN'T SAY FAIRER.

Better than dying of boredom.

Kench.

K.A. Jordan (kajordan) | 3042 comments The good news is Christie is out and Guliani is fading fast.

The bad news is Brightbart's main man is Chief of Staff. The Alt-Right has much of the Force these days.

Yup. Confucius say: "Survivors interpret Chinese wisdom as 'someone else's interesting times.'"

The Force is neutral. It is what you do with it. Bannon is at least more interesting than the standard apparatchiks.

K.A. Jordan (kajordan) | 3042 comments Trumps first targets have been chosen - 2 to 9 million federal jobs are now in jepardy.

2 million are GS positions, the rest are contract positions.

That's gonna help the economy...NOT.

It will cost me about $900 to fly to Rome. Gotta get a passport before I can start packing.

It'll help your taxes, and it will help create jobs in the private sector. A job in the government sector is very rarely a productive job outside of frontline teachers and medical staff (in properly socialized national health systems, not the mess Obama is leaving behind); most are merely positions to interfere in the work of productive members of society. Government jobs are a cost on society, very often an end in themselves, without a corresponding benefit, simply a huge pork barrel.

K.A. Jordan (kajordan) | 3042 comments True.

Here at Fort Knox (in the 1990's) there were thousands of GS jobs that required computer skills, and the people in those jobs had Zero computer skills. I gave computer lessons to people who couldn't navigate windows with a mouse.

However, the combined salaries of the GS positions are less than the money paid to the contractors who are filling those jobs for close to minimum wage.

It's a Catch 22.

K.A. Jordan (kajordan) | 3042 comments Trump has found it easier to get his way in the business world and is shamelessly using his position as president to make money.

Congress doesn't have the balls to stop him. He simply ignores them as he's ignored the media and the tax laws. There will be no blind trust for this president because there is "no conflict of interest."

The world will never see America in the same light. Our emperor has no clothes.

Where's the evidence of this?

I think the intention is to reduce the number of positions overall, rather than just job substitution, which has hidden traps.
