I have been reading this book for my Crime piece of pie. The copy I have from the library is wonderfully annotated, which was just luck. I could as easily have received a beat- up paperback copy.
I am almost mid-way through and the plot thickens.

Camille (camillesbookishadventures) We used to have a comics version of this in my house as a child. I was terrified of the picture of the hound. I have hated this book ever since, although I have read the whole thing.

This is my favorite Sherlock Holmes actually. I can see how the picture of the hound would be terrifying though!

I just finished the book and really enjoyed this mystery, especially the mysterious moors.

Tr1sha | 283 comments I enjoyed this book, but was surprised by how much of the book was about Dr Watson. Sherlock Holmes didn’t feature as much as I had expected.

Debra Diggs I have always wanted to read this this book. But somehow never got a round to it.

Try it, Debra! It was my first book by the author & I wasn’t sure if I wanted to read it at all. It’s a good read but fairly short so it won’t take up too much of your time. Hope you enjoy it.

Debra Diggs Thanks for the info Trisha. I have downloaded a digital copy from my library. Looks like I will be reading it this month : )

That’s good - it will be good to know what you think of the book.

Debra Diggs Finished The Hound of the Baskervilles. I enjoyed the story. It was good. This was my first Sherlock Holmes story, and I will definitely read more.

I’m glad you enjoyed it, Debra. I aim to read A Study in Scarlet some time soon.

I started reading all the Sherlock Holmes books about a year ago, mostly in order, and am hooked on Holmes and Watson.

Debra Diggs I downloaded the free copy of A Study in Scarlet from Amazon. Looking forward to reading it. I think it is the first Sherlock Holmes book.

Rosemarie, do you have a favorite?

My favourite of the novels so far is The Sign of Four, but I like the others too. A Study in Scarlet is the first book. We learn how Holmes and Watson become a team.
