Stacey D. | 1908 comments What are you reading this week? Midnight's Children by Salman Rushdie

Have you already read many of the books on the list? 41/100

Are there any books that you think should have been included? I'd add the wonderful, yet highly underrated The Deptford Trilogy: Fifth Business/The Manticore/World of Wonders and Fall on Your Knees.

I reread The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis.

I've read about 20 of the top 200, although I think I may have read more as a child but I wasn't 100% sure.

Are there any books that you think should have been included?
Not that I can think of. The ones that I think should be there are there.

Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë

- Have you already read many of the books on the list? If I counted well, I read 66/200.

The list is nice but there are too many Pratchett's books and not enough important scifi stuff, like Asimov's books.

It's certainly not my all-time favorite 200, but my very favorite novel is there (The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver).

Aine | 179 comments What are you reading this week
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by JK Rowling

Have you already read many books on the list?
9/200 since I started tracking on Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ.
37 in total

Are there any books you think should have been included?
Being Irish, there are a lot of books I would consider classics that aren't included. But still love the list.

Joan Barnett | 1968 comments - What are you reading this week?Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
- Have you already read many of the books on the list?Sadly I only counted like 14/100 but some I'm not sure if I read in high school or not
- Are there any books that you think should have been included? I agree with some of the other people that The Book Thief and The Diary of a Young Girl maybe should be added but like everyone else said we can't really say what the Brits should add.

Rachel A. (abyssallibrarian) | 3238 comments What are you reading this week?
The BFG

Have you already read many of the books on the list?
I've read about a quarter of the Top 200, so quite a few.

Are there any books that you think should have been included?
I wouldn't necessarily say that I'd add books, but there were quite a few that I was very surprised to see on the list, especially many of the longer classics. Ulysses is one of the nation's favourite novels? Really?

I was under the impression that this was intended to be a list of the most popular or most loved books, as voted by people in the UK, so it was surprising to see so many of the more obscure classics. If anything, I probably would have expected more children's or YA books.

Anne of Green gables by Lucy Maud Montgomery

- Have you already read many of the books on the list?

Yes, quite a few, including this one. I went through a classics phase when I was younger.

- Are there any books that you think should have been included?

These lists are always very subjective, and each one has its own flavor. So I think it is fine as it is.
