I read the novel version a few years ago and remember thinking it was much darker than I had imagined from Disney's version (imagine that) and even more than the plays I'd see. I'm wondering if I'll see more in it during this re-read.

I enjoyed it, it was always whimsical and silly to me, a nice escape from reality. Some of it was dark for a children's story, but mostly it's just adventures and then growing up.
