I'm anxiously waiting for The Turn by Kim Harrison to come out. I even told my husband that's what I wanted for my birthday (my birthday is February 3rd). Who else is excited? Anyone hoping it answers some questions? or maybe starts a new series?

So I went to pick this book up today only to find it was $13.
Really??
I am not sure I am willing to pay that so I am on the library list
Has anyone read it yet?

I've started it but life has gotten busy so I've only been able to read a couple chapters here and there. I like it though. it took me a bit to wrap my mind around the fact it's different characters and written in 3rd person instead of first person and takes place in the 60s. I'm so used to The Hollows being from Rachel's point of view and set in modern times.

I did, found that it made me want to re-read the series, then re-do this one. I loved how there are characters we love in The Hallows series that we see in this one, but younger.

I'm in the middle of a re-read of the series due to this book. Will then re-read this one to see if some things I thought originally are true.

Just finished it last night. I enjoyed it but it was a little slower than I'd have thought it'd be and wasn't quite what I was expecting. I did like it though and love reading about The Turn and I love The Hollows but I struggled with it a bit. I love

So I did a re-read of the Hallows series, then a re-read this book. The second time around and with the rest of the series so fresh in my mind I had some questions.

1. Quen seems to hate Kal with a passion, so how could he work for the family? Also, in the regular series it seems he has a father/son relationship with Trent. As he hated his father so much how could he love the boy as much as he did, especially as he seemed pissed when Trisk showed up pregnant?

2. There were times I thought Quen and Trisk might end up a couple. They had a close friendship, there might have been more had their jobs been around each other. Once Trisk was forced to marry Kal, do you think they might have had an affair?

3. Do you think Kal cared for Trent at all? He seemed like he looked at his kid as one more thing to cross off his list to become more powerful within the Eleven community. (hide spoiler)]
