Like paranormal romance, contemporary or historical romance. I love romance too. I would say 90-95% of all my books are romance. I am starting Accidentally on Purpose (Heartbreaker Bay, #3) by Jill Shalvis tonight. Jill Shalvis is becoming a favorite author of mine.

Oooooh! Then I would have to say NA, IR, and Contemporary. I can take dark romances but I just don't happen to see them when I do find freebies/KU and such. I stray away from erotica because I'm just more in books for the story than the sex. But if I read reviews and the book happens to include erotica, it's ok but I sometimes will still just skip past the scenes. Nothing against paranormal/fantasy but I just love reading about the love story primarily so I just have never really leaned toward other sub genres. Though I have tried a paranormal once or twice for fun and to jump from comfort, and I thoroughly enjoyed! (Lowkey cheated though bc one of those books were already coming from my favorite author hahahah)

I just bought Gemina. I'm going to read this one too. I loved Illuminae. Enjoy

No worries, Veronica! We just thought we would let anyone pick that already knew what they wanted to read.

Do you get any of your books from Overdrive, Hoopla or OnceClickDigital? it's sad to say I only discovered my library had digital content a little over a year ago.
Have you read Catherine Bybee or Katy Regnery? Both are available on KU. If you do want to step out of your comfort zone with paranormal again, I would suggest Nalini Singh Psy-Changeling or Guild Hunter series.

Kaylee Wilson | 621 comments Hello team! I apologize for my absence; been pretty busy this week.

Getting to know you questions

1. Is this the first time playing UNO?
I played in 2015 on a different account that I no longer have access to.
2. Where do you live or your time zone?
Central Pennsylvania, EST
3. What's your preferred genre?
I read pretty much anything Young Adult; been really into Dystopian novels recently.
4. Any suggestions for cards that you feel will be difficult to find books for?
anything with a Z?

message 59: by Kaylee (new)

Kaylee Wilson | 621 comments I have my eyes on several books at the moment; I'm currently reading Throne of Glass so I'm going to read Crown of Midnight next. I'll also be reading "Romeo and Juliet" For school this month. Assign them to whatever cards you wish :)

Z for young adult I can't think of off the top of my head. Rebecca Zanetti's most recent series is dystopian/post apocalyptic The Scorpius Syndrome. I believe her third book for this series is coming out next week. I am enjoying this series. I did like the prequel and first book in the series. I got behind on this series with other books I needed for other challenges last year.
Have you read anything by Neal Shusterman?

I love that series! Crown of Midnight will work for one of our reverse cards since I have read that one. Romeo and Juliet can work for 6 for right now. It can be moved around to another card that is harder fill if it works for it. Off the top of my head I could not tell you what the other characters are without looking up the character list.

message 62: by Kaylee (new)

Kaylee Wilson | 621 comments Havent read anything by him, no. Reverse and six sounds good to me. :)

message 67: by Veronica (new)

Veronica (veraj121) Has anyone read Ready Player One?

message 68: by Ora (new)

Ora (oeamis) No I haven't. I have seen it floating around with people reading it and marking it to read.

message 69: by Ora (new)

Ora (oeamis) I put the audio for Ready Player One on reserve at my library. There is only one person ahead of so I'm not sure how long I will have to wait.

message 70: by Emily (new)

Emily (emilysayshi7) | 11 comments I haven't read Ready Player One either. I have a copy though

message 71: by Veronica (new)

Veronica (veraj121) I was going to use that book as a Reverse card.

message 72: by Ora (new)

Ora (oeamis) Not sure when I will be able to listen to it. Sucks being on a wait list just waiting...at least I only have one person ahead and 5 copies available to check out, so hopefully it won't be too long. If no one else reads it before I can I will make it a priority to listen to it ASAP when I can check it out.

Veronica (veraj121) I am going to start off with something hot, sizzling, and scandalous
An Accidental Affair by Eric Jerome Dickey An Accidental Affair. Oh, this is one of my guilty pleasure. Especially after reading something deep or a little heavy.

This book is a stand alone and could be used as a zero card. Or for the 8 card.. The author's name is Eric Jerome Dickey

message 86: by Veronica (new)

Veronica (veraj121) Can I read the same book someone else is reading for this month and it will count as a Draw 2 book?

message 87: by Ora (new)

Ora (oeamis) Veronica wrote: "Can I read the same book someone else is reading for this month and it will count as a Draw 2 book?"

I am a bit confused with the question. Yes and no.
Yes: If a hand has a reverse and draw2 along with another card the book works for then yes.
Example: If I read Ready One Player before you this month and then you read it, I could use it for draw 2 in hand 5 since it would work for reverse and wild or wild 4.

No: When using draw 2, you use the same book twice in the same hand. If two players read the same book, I would use it twice, but wouldn't have to worry about using it for the same hand. I would add a comment on who read it so it wouldn't get confusing and we get our points.
