Eldarwen | 5004 comments Ok great, Annika! Thanks!
If you're reading it anyway... then I'll just skip my book entirely and read something else that might be more useful for the mini challenge.

I'll read Painted Veil now and then I'll see what else I can find that might finish up a set of tasks.

What are your reading plans for this last stretch of the game?

Also, does anyone have a book for our 3 Yellow?

message 1161: by Eldarwen (new)

Eldarwen | 5004 comments As for myself:
The Painted Veil (water on cover task) should be done tomorrow hopefully.

Then I'll be reading Silence of the Grave for the thriller task which should hopefully also be quick.

And then I want to read Spider's Bite next week, too, but not sure yet for which task. Probably a spell-out, which might be the easiest egg to finish up.

I'm not sure I would fully consider it a garden, but The Spymaster's Lady has an abstract of a flower garden behind the main character. It is a little questionable if it is a garden or not. I should see if I can find something better than an abstract garden.

message 1194: by Eldarwen (new)

Eldarwen | 5004 comments Shame about those last 50 pages, Chris!

The Painted Veil by W. Somerset Maugham is done! And that finishes off another one of our eggs.

message 1195: by Chris (new)

Chris | 190 comments OK. For the book I've just finished, 'One Day', I can use '...where the MC goes to the zoo'

On another note I began reading 'The innocence of Father Brown', by GK Chesterton, thinking it was a book. However, after finishing what I thought was the first chapter I have since realised it was not a chapter but that 'The Innocence of Father Brown', is actually a series of short stories!

I won't be reading on Thursday as I have business to attend to all day so that really only leaves me four days before the end of the month. I will have a look at my TBR shelf and see if I can find a short book (obviously of 25,000 words or more) to try and get though by the end of April. I will let you know. What a plonker!

message 1196: by Chris (new)

Chris | 190 comments Right, I am going to read and TRY to finish 'Agatha Raisin and the Walkers of Dembley'. I'm not going to promise I will finish it but I will try and do my best.

message 1197: by Eldarwen (new)

Eldarwen | 5004 comments All good, Chris! If you don't manage, so be it. Main thing is that you're enjoying your book!! :-)

message 1198: by Annalisa (new)

Annalisa | 1659 comments I'm currently reading Cold-Hearted Rake (The Ravenels, #1) by Lisa Kleypas . This has a garden on the cover. It can also be used for flower or petal, page 27.

I haven't finished it. I'll post again when I do. The above keeps me from forgetting those in case we need to move something around and this fits one of those better than the garden.
