I've been following his blog for the last few years. It was really odd for me. I'd stopped checking daily for a week or two, because neither he nor Lisa Costello were updating it frequently, and then checked it on the night of the 31st and read the post that he hadn't died.

I got up the next morning, checked Twitter, and discovered he'd passed in the meantime.

I think I may have met him at a convention about a decade ago.

He will be missed.

Matthew Thyer | 10 comments I met Jay briefly back in 04, he was a special guy and he'll be missed. Amy Sundberg wrote something I really appreciated about his death and her loss.
