I vaguely remember this story it's a Harlequin. I'm not sure if heroine knew she is just a mistress or not but I think she didn't. There's a scene where I believe she's outside enjoying the sun by the pool and the hero's brother I think ( I don't know if he was the brother but I think someone related to the hero somehow; the hero and this guy also don't get along)tells the heroine something that she ends up leaving the hero (it could have been that hero is going to marry someone other woman or that the heroine is just the heros mistress and that he'll get tired of her eventually, I'm not sure). He didn't think heroine was smart (she might have been dyslexic I think; also im not really sure but might have also thought she didnt have any money). (I dont know if im confusing this with another story but i think he thought she wasnt smart because he would have to order at restaurants for her). At the end when she has left him and he goes looking for her she ends up being a professor or working in a university.
