Meaghan yay nice to be back with you again this will be a tough challenge have you played it before?

I was just reading the rules and buddy reads are going to be even more important in this game. I hope all our team like buddying up.

I actually haven't! And I've planned my month full of BRs, so I'm definitely good in that category :) should be super helpful for us!

Hi Gillian and Meaghan (and those that haven't checked in yet). I'm happy to try and sort buddy reads-will have a proper look now teams are posted.

Have 20 BRs/series reads I can join in on,plus any ARCs I get through.

Thats great Karen if anyone gets a chance and wants to post books they are interested in reading in here I'm happy to see if I can buddy read with you if I can get the books.

I haven't done this challenge before, but I guess we're aiming to find the highest hitting point box quickly then keep requesting it. If so, what's our best plan for picking it out?

I think the chart scores only update every few days or once a week unfortunately though, so we don't have that option at first! At least that's how I think Sarah said it, so I may be wrong xD

I'm not sure if it works like the actual minesweeper game, and if we can use those numbers to find the star, so I don't know if there's an actual strategy to the minesweeper tactic of it, or just guessing as many times as possible and hoping to find the star the fastest

LOL, I already planned my buddy reads. I must admit, I didn't do as well as I liked in this challenge.

Have a lot of stuff to read for NetGalley. I'll set up a link and if anyone has the books we should set up BRs. Hadn't really clocked just how crucial they are for this.

Might be being dense, but is the board the same for all reviews and bonus points? I got 4 points for my review (pages read) but it's going to be tricky to keep track of points for boxes. Anyone got any hints?

We need to keep track of where the high points are on the board so we can pick the highest. Definitely let us know what books your are reading as we need to do as many buddy reads as we can.

I'm not sure yet, I think I'll just pick out whichever ones I want to read at the time. Is that OK? Why?

@Gillian I don't think the points for the boxes were entered in yet :) Sarah was only going to update all of those at once about every few days or so I believe, to limit cheating. So no one got any points for boxes yet (otherwise both mine were 0 too)

Hey guys! So Sarah said that none of the boxes used so far have the star (only people with 6+ were counted), and I'm trying to keep a list of ones that are known to be not the star :) I'm also going to start a spreadsheet for known values, so we can avoid bombs other teams may have hit (if I am able to figure out specific at all). I'll post a share link here once I've got the comment (and once everyone's got it, I'd prefer to delete it so other teams don't steal it!)

excellent, I was begining to wonder how the mindsweeper thing played into it. If you can keep note until we know what it is that would be awesome, I'm rubbish at that kind of thing :)

I'm pretty good at math/puzzles, and have already got 6 #1's figured out from the scores, and a list of the ones that aren't the star. I also figured I would just PM you guys the link :) don't want to accidentally help the other teams!

Just sent a message to all of you! If you guys figure anything out, let me know and I'll update the spreadsheet accordingly. If you guys also want me to keep track of all numbers guessed total (not just the scored ones), let me know and I'll add the section!

I'll be checking all the review threads each morning to keep up with this, if there are any changes.

I'm still here. I am going to update either now or tomorrow.

Spreadsheet updated with data from today + all numbers that haven't been scored yet, and can be the star. For now, smartest is to just choose those numbers!

If I can be sure about the location of a 4 pointer, we'll just use that one until another team uses the star the first time (and I will start to find that), in order to get the most points! (This way we are all getting 4 points each box, instead of mostly 1's and 2's while trying to find the star still)

I have a few reviews to do that are all buddy reads I hope to get them done over the next 2 days. I will check for number on the spreadsheet thanks Meaghan you are doing an awesome job.

Meaghan, I hate to be a bother but firstly could you include on the spreadsheet the numbers that we've already guessed and secondly the link you sent to my inbox has not included the 4 point number so is not up to date.

Updated spreadsheet. Now features new info from today (going to try and figure out some numbers if at all possible), + now includes sections for numbers that cannot be star, numbers that can be star since they haven't been scored or chosen yet, and then the numbers currently chosen by teams waiting to be scored, and numbers waiting to be chosen for the first time. Even anything else needs to be added, or you need help deciphering it, let me know! :)
