Mallory (figslibrary) | 118 comments This is inspired by my recent reads and some booktube videos that I watched on the same topic.

So what are series you're not going to finish?

For me it's The Infernal Devices series and The Rose and the Dagger, the 2nd book to the The Wrath and the Dawn duology. I'm debating whether it'll be worth it for me to continue on with the next books, but I'm not sure yet...

Katriann (annelisreadingroom) | 2175 comments Some that come to mind are Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer, Wicked Lovely by Melissa Marr, Faery Rebels by T. J. Anderson and perhaps Stray by Monica Hesse.

Alyson Stone (alysonserenastone) | 300 comments The Maze Runner and The Wrath and the Dawn

message 4: by Angel (new)

Angel | 37 comments Maybe I'll change my mind at some point... but for now I have no plans to finish Red Queen or Throne of Glass.

message 5: by [deleted user] (new)

Red Queen is a really good series, I just finished it a while ago. Although the ending isn't what you quite expect :)

message 6: by Megan (new)

Megan (megantron119) | 445 comments The only series I haven planned on finishing so far has been The White Rabbit Chronicles by Gena Showalter. I just couldn't do the whole zombie thing.

I liked the 1st book but when I tried reading the 2nd I just couldn't get into it... maybe I'll give it another chance someday. I've seen some people say the beginning is kind of slow but that it gets better?

message 8: by Hailey (new)

Hailey Winn (hailey1933) The Lunar Chronicles, and I know this is a very loved book but I've tried to get through Cinder three times and I just can't do it.

message 9: by Kikijanika (new)

Kikijanika | 3055 comments Pobably Ender's saga.

message 10: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer Girard (jennifergirard) | 1832 comments I have a couple haha... Sea Breeze, vampire diaries, fifty shades of grey, Dexter, Love at Stake ...

message 11: by [deleted user] (new)

I don't remember what the series is called but the series with The Young Elites By: Marie Lu. Didn't really like The Young Elites and wasn't able to finish The Rose Society.

I forgot about this series! I read and liked Cinder, but wasn't a huge fan of the 2nd book... so I may not finish the series either.

message 13: by Sofiraindrop (new)

Sofiraindrop | 425 comments I guess I have a lot... but I 'm going to say Shadow hunters. I read the first book and didn't like it that much, so I didn't think it was worth the time.

message 14: by Siya (new)

Siya (siyak_) Probably going to be the Selection series. The first three books about America were absolutely amazing!!! But the last 2 books about Maxon's daughter I think are going to be really bad. I can't even get past chapter nine.

Personally I found Glass Sword to be weak.

message 16: by Kristie (new)

Kristie | 132 comments House of Night.
The story is fine but the way its narrated is just NOT.

message 17: by Olivia (new)

Olivia The selection. I recently read the two first books but I did not like them at all. They were just so predictable and Mason really disturbs me, so I not finishing the series.

message 18: by Lena (new)

Lena (lelenif) | 91 comments Probably Lunar Chronicles and The Iron King...both have whiny and annoying heroines..These stories are just not made for me.

message 19: by Mayleen (new)

Mayleen (the Page Ripper) | 51 comments I've read Red Queen and Glass Sword, and I read probably 14% of King's Cage before I gave up and left. I will not be finishing the last book.

message 20: by Cindee (new)

Cindee | 274 comments Will not finish Grisha Trilogy by Leigh Bardugo
or Chronicles of Nick series by Sherrilyn Kenyon or
Dorothy Must Die series by Danielle Paige or Half Bad Trilogy by
Sally Green

message 21: by Alyson (new)

Alyson Stone (alysonserenastone) | 300 comments I'm not going to finish Fifty Shades of Grey...Yeah...I'll just leave it at that....

Khrys ♡《TheWaffleGirl》 (khrys79) The Gone Series by Michael Grant. I think it has an awesome plot but unlike most of you I just can't stand his writing style.

message 23: by Seline (new)

Seline Awuor (selineomondi) | 9 comments I am not going to finish Runes book two which is immortals by Ednah Walters, the connection is just not there and the thrill of what will happen next is lacking. I tried Delirium but left it at that, book 1, it was enough of a struggle on it's own.

ℓуηη_σƒνєℳűяιѕ | 789 comments Hmmm, I've got more series than I'd like to admit being put on the "abandoned series" shelf. Let's start with Red Queen, Maze Runner, Raven Cycle, Dark Artifices, House of Night. There are some others, but I'm such a completionish I just might end up picking them back up. But most definitely not the ones I've just listed. I just can't give a crap about these. =/

message 25: by Jecille (new)

Jecille | 5 comments I'm not reading the 6th book of the Throne of Glass series. I do not care about that point of view from that character. I really wish Manon would have gotten her own book because she is far more interesting.

message 26: by Romana (new)

Romana ☝️☝️I'm not going to finish the Gone series either because I found the first one too boring. Also The Medusa Project by Sophie McKenzie - I just don't care enough about the characters.

message 27: by Heather (new)

Heather McCaskie (heatheremm) Divergent series :/ I find Veronica Roth's descriptions of action scenes so hard to follow that I gave up

message 28: by idiffer (new)

idiffer I drop about 70-80% of the series I start after book 1 or 2.
A vote for Gone also (hated it enough to review it).
Half bad, Insignia, Half a king, Diabolic are among the latest.

message 29: by Jessica (new)

Jessica I liked the first two books in the Throne of Glass series, but by the time I got to the third book I completely lost interest.

message 30: by Esther (new)

Esther Jackson (ejjackson) No! You have to finish Throne of Glass! And probably the hunt series

message 31: by Cindee (new)

Cindee | 274 comments Not finishing Shadow and Bone Grisha Trilogy

message 32: by Cindee (new)

Cindee | 274 comments Also Half Bad Trilogy could not finish book 2

message 33: by Elle Caldwell (new)

Elle Caldwell | 104 comments I barely managed to finished The sword of Shannara which was written in 1977. I just can’t bring myself to finish the series.

message 34: by Karen (new)

Karen | 1 comments Daughter of Smoke and Bone. I finished the 1st one today and it just didn't thrill me.

message 35: by Lena (new)

Lena (lelenif) | 91 comments I won't finish the The Iron King series. The first book didn't thrill me and the main character is annoying me..
And I'm still fighting with the Outlander series might not finish this one as well.

message 36: by Estee (new)

Estee Hull (esteehull) Honestly, I don't think if I were to start a series I wouldn't finishing the series. That's my OCD.

I actually really liked the first and second book but when I started the 3rd i couldn't really get myself to finish it. maybe ill try some other day

same here

message 39: by georgiaotaku (new)

georgiaotaku (daogotaku) I have all of the Maze Runner books (sequels and prequels,) but for me they are just so hard to push through that idk if I will ever finish them. I also got all the way to the last book in the Matched series and just can’t bring myself to read the last one.

message 40: by Bailey (new)

Bailey Grimm I don’t think I’ll ever finish the Matched series or the Etiquette and Espionage series. Just did not like the first ones well enough to want to put the time in for the rest of them

message 41: by Tina (new)

Tina (tinatome) | 44 comments The Red Queen series. I have zero interest in even attempting the second book

I'm actually on the 7th book of the series (chronologically). It's really good, so far. I tried starting with Sword of Shannara and got so bogged down I had to take a break. Starting from the "beginning" (Running with the Demon) has made it easier for me to follow.

Is this possibly a series that was turned into a Netflix tv show called The Shannara Chronicles? I really enjoyed the show and would be interested in picking up the books.

What was it about the Dorothy Must Die series that made you not want to continue on with it?

It was actually on MTV first. I never watched it, but it is the same series. The show is based on The Wishsong of Shannara and The Elfstones of Shannara which are the second and third books of The Sword of Shannara trilogy. The entire Shannara series has 30 something books, though

message 47: by Bailey (new)

Bailey Grimm I didn’t know that. Thanks
