I also loved:
The Age of Wonder by Richard Holmes
A Man on the Moon by Andrew Chaikin
The Time Traveller's Guide to Medieval England by Ian Mortimer
If you like Shakespeare or Marlowe, Charles Nicholl's historical detective work is fantastic: The Lodger (Shakespeare) and The Reckoning (Marlowe). In fact, I want to read them again now!

The Good Immigrant, edited by Nikesh Shukla is an amazing collection of essays by BAME people living in Britain today.
I'm very much enjoying John Lydon's Anger Is An Energy, but might not be everyone's cup of tea.
More science ones I haven't finished yet, but have heard great things about: A Brief History of Everyone Who Ever Lived - Adam Rutherford, and The Particle Zoo - Gavin Hesketh.
