if you have already read the book(and haven't done a review) let us know who is your favorite character is? tell us what you think about the book and tell us if you loved or hated it.
please note you don't have to review the book it is not a requirement of the BOM. I consider them more as conversation starters.
it's up to you if you want to participate. just let us know if you're reading(or rereading) the book. and you can tell us what you think or even the page you are on.
Ooh you could tell us your favorite quote...is it on the list?
so many options, it's up to you to choose who you interact with us.
also if you're just reading with us but you are too shy to make a comment. we don't bite.... we only nibble if you have done something seriously wrong.... and for fun of course! lol

So this is were we meet Julie. Some of Kate's sayings are so fun. Of course Julie calls her weird.
I think this is one of the slowest to re-read as the over all story, her father, Curran, etc... doesn't grow. We do get Julie and Andrea as new people for Kate. I do wonder what happened to Anne? from book one, Greg's ex-wife. The one that warns Kate about her vision. I don't think we hear from her again do we? People that come and go in Kate's life.

yes we hear from anne in the later books. but your right there are a few minor characters that float in and out of kates life. however characters like saiman, Ghastek and even some of the mercs have mentions storylines etc...in later books and in the short stories.

I'm really wondering where because I'm up to Gunmetal Magic in a series reread on another group and haven't noticed her again.
I think that because I had read this in February, it went a bit slower for me this time. Still I actually liked it better than in February because I noticed different things. I always notice different things on rereads with Kate. Last time I was a bit irritated with Kate and how she becomes attached to Bran. Still that is Kate, having been trained to not connect but really wanting those connections. All the same, I should probably wait at least a year before rereading these. :-)

Magic Burns is the second installment of the Kate Daniels series. Kate is one of my favourite strong Heroines.
I would classify this Urban Fantasy, with the perfect blend of Fantasy and technology.
The synopsis:
Down in Atlanta, tempers and temperatures are about to flare
As a mercenary who cleans up after magic gone wrong, Kate Daniels has seen her share of occupational hazards. Normally, waves of paranormal energy ebb and flow across Atlanta like a tide. But once every seven years, a flare comes, a time when magic runs rampant. Now Kate’s going to have to deal with problems on a much bigger scale: a divine one.
When Kate sets out to retrieve a set of stolen maps for the Pack, Atlanta’s paramilitary clan of shapeshifters, she quickly realizes much more at stake. During a flare, gods and goddesses can manifest and battle for power. The stolen maps are only the opening gambit in an epic tug-of-war between two gods hoping for rebirth. And if Kate can’t stop the cataclysmic showdown, the city may not survive
