If it is okay to sign up for group 5 after being in group 4, then please include The Negative's Tale by R. Leib in group 5. mobi and PDF formats available.

Jonas Lee (jl_fiction) I'm in for a read/review!
A Time to Reap

Author William Fripp (william_fripp) Hello! Please consider Ad Infinitum:

/book/show/2...

Thanks!

message 7: by Scott (new)

Scott Spotson (scottspotson) | 272 comments We're rocking! Only two more to go! See my post earlier for latest list.

message 8: by Pearson (new)

Pearson Moore Scott,

I hope you might be able to include my epic (267,000 words) science fiction novel, Deneb. If so, it will be a real honor to join the group.

message 9: by Scott (new)

Scott Spotson (scottspotson) | 272 comments Welcome! For the sake of transparency, I will state that I have read Pearson's "Deneb," as part of a review group here, funny enough. I did enjoy it and gave it four stars, so I'm sure the quality is not an issue at all. However, given its length, and the fact that we usually assign reviews to the authors who are two and one rows up from the target author, I'll have to ask Jonas and William: are you willing to read 267,000 words? I would urge you to try.

message 10: by Rubin (new)

Rubin Johnson | 19 comments Um, my novel is only 55K. 267K would be more of a commitment than I'd be willing to make.

message 11: by Scott (new)

Scott Spotson (scottspotson) | 272 comments Anyone else already here in this group wish to volunteer to read Deneb? I can certainly re-arrange the list.

message 12: by Jonas (new)

Jonas Lee (jl_fiction) I would gladly give it a shot if I weren't trying to complete a sequel and another book. 200+ is quite a feat for me in two month's time. Sorry.

Okay. I'll review Deneb as long as we amend the rules allowing the first round review to be posted at the end of the second round. (After all, this is as long as two full length novels.) And I get Well Oiled for my second round book so that my eyes don't fall out of my head.

R.

message 14: by Scott (new)

Scott Spotson (scottspotson) | 272 comments That's so thoughtful of you, R.! Yes, I'll assign you Well Oiled.

Is it okay for now if I start assigning books, and Pearson gets only one reviewer, R., for now, and not two? And Pearson, I'll assign you two books to review? That seems fair, given that even if divided into two books, Deneb in two would still be about 133,000 words each, and you, Pearson, would probably get assigned two books of lower word count total! Meanwhile, there's still one guy left to consider a review of Deneb!

I'll start tonight and this group can finally start taking off!

message 15: by Scott (new)

Scott Spotson (scottspotson) | 272 comments All right here is the listing:

Jonas reviews Ad Infinitum by William Fripp

Round Two
Jonas reviews The Negative's Tale by R. Leib

For William

Round One
William reviews The Negative's Tale by R. Leib

For R.

Round One
R. review Deneb by Pearson Moore

Round Two
R. reviews Well Oiled: A Mayberry Multisport Adventure by Rubin Johnson

(R. may choose to switch books around so he can read Well Oiled first)

For Pearson

Round One
Pearson reviews Well Oiled: A Mayberry Multisport Adventure by Rubin Johnson

Round Two
Pearson reviews A Time to Reap by Jonas Lee

For Rubin

Round One
Rubin reviews A Time to Reap by Jonas Lee

Round Two
Rubin reviews Ad Infinitum by William Fripp

You can start exchanging books now. I'll post the rules and deadlines shortly.

message 16: by Scott (new)

Scott Spotson (scottspotson) | 272 comments Here are the deadlines and the guidelines.

Round One: Start Sept. 1 and finish Sept. 15.

Round Two: Start Sept. 15 and finish Oct. 1. (Round One books can be carried over until Oct. 1, if needed).

(The book "Deneb" has no fixed deadline, although Nov. 1 would be suggested).

It doesn't matter to me how authors and reviewers can exchange books, but in general, personally, I prefer the reviewers contact the authors, because the authors can't do anything without the reviewers' email addresses. So, reviewers, go contact the two authors on your list!

1) Authors should be advised that only works that are polished enough for publication should be submitted.

2) Once a reviewer posts their review to Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ, they are expected to post this information to the review group topic. If the review is three stars or better, it should be posted to Amazon, as well. Amazon U.K. is an option if either the reviewer or the author wants it.

3) If the first reviewer feels that the review is worth one or two stars, he or she must contact the author for permission to post the review on Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ. In that case, the second reviewer is relieved of the responsibility to review the work, unless he or she has already read enough of the same book and feels it is worthy of a positive review, i.e. three stars or above, and wants to post it.

message 17: by Scott (new)

Scott Spotson (scottspotson) | 272 comments One reviewer pointed out that we actually have a month per book. True, but I think we can do a book every two weeks, in general, since unlike other review groups on Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ, there are two books per reviewer, not four.

But, we're flexible. Just enjoy the books when you can!

Received review copies of both Deneb and Well Oiled: A Mayberry Multisport Adventure.

message 19: by Scott (new)

Scott Spotson (scottspotson) | 272 comments Great. William, you may be interested in picking up an abandoned review on this thread: /topic/show/...

I noticed there is a science fiction book there, Train to Nowhere. If you agree, post on that thread so the author can be delighted.

There is also Over Cast, which is a fantasy. I'm willing to bend the genre a little bit so any of these abandoned reviews can get done.

Thanks!

message 20: by Scott (new)

Scott Spotson (scottspotson) | 272 comments Okay, start period has well begun by now. All reviewers for Round One, you should have your book by now to enjoy, and if not, ask your assigned author for it! Thanks, don't forget to pass on your email address!

Happy reading!

message 22: by Scott (new)

Scott Spotson (scottspotson) | 272 comments Yes, it is too late as books have already been assigned.

However, I will save your place for the next round. I don't know when, but usually when two or three authors start signing up anew, then it's time to start a new group.

Thanks!

message 26: by Pearson (new)

Pearson Moore Scott,
The arrangements regarding my reviews and the single review of Deneb are perfect. Thank you for including me in the group! My review of Well Oiled will appear in a few hours. For some reason, probably my confusion between review groups, I thought we had a full month between reviews. Two weeks is perfectly fine, though, and I'll have the second review done before October.

Scott Spotson (scottspotson) | 272 comments Good going guys! Just two more reviews due on Monday for Round One!

message 31: by Scott (new)

Scott Spotson (scottspotson) | 272 comments Wow, fast already! Thanks, Rubin... your reviews are very detailed and I hope the authors find them helpful, as I have not read the books, but they certainly give lots of information. Just one more Round One review due tomorrow...

message 32: by Scott (new)

Scott Spotson (scottspotson) | 272 comments The first round has passed and we're doing well. Just William is left, but I'm told that he's cracking on it. Thanks! Remember, Round Two ends Sept. 30, except for Deneb review.

message 38: by Scott (new)

Scott Spotson (scottspotson) | 272 comments Thanks R., you certainly manage your time well so that you posted by the regular deadline! Thanks for agreeing to take on this book!

message 39: by Scott (new)

Scott Spotson (scottspotson) | 272 comments Well, this group is positively crackling. In a tighter schedule, all managed to pull through your colours! Thanks!

The only holdout is William, who had only one book to review instead of two. William, how's it going? Deadline for all reviews was today.

message 40: by Scott (new)

Scott Spotson (scottspotson) | 272 comments I'm told that William's review was posted on Amazon. I'm assured it will be posted on Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ soon. With that in mind, I declare this group CLOSED and DONE!!

Thank you all!
