I need help finding a book series again. This is the problem with reading so many series at one time.

What I remember is a woman running a book store who has the classic group of seniors who meet there in the morning. I believe in the first book one of the seniors asks the woman to keep her eye out for a particular book, and oddly enough another townsperson who is made out to be the 'bad' guy asks about the same book.

At the end of the first book, the store owner has found the book and has wound up in the enemy's home only to discover secret powers she didn't know she had. She blows up the house and wakes up not remembering a thing, and although the senior is there to help her and collects the book, he acts as though nothing happened and it was a gas leak that caused the explosion.

I really would like to reread the book if I can figure out what it is!!

Paragraph 2 looks like the Dowser series by Meghan Ciana Doidge. I am up-to-date with the series. I'd say what you're describing is in books 4 or 5.
