Daniel (beardednomad51) | 32 comments hey guys and gals recently I started playing thought he Witcher 3 again and now I want more books like it. preferably written recently enough that I can get a new copy from Book Depository

I've read a the Witcher books and I am looking for something in the same flavour, a person fights monsters and there's a love story (Geralt and Yennefer are my favourite part)

just so books I read aren't recommended I've read
Prince of Thorns series loved it
Witcher series loved it
blade itself absolute trash that's overrated
red knight loved it
legend loved it

I think that's all the books people usually rec.

anyways thanks for helping me out it can be hard to find books in a certain genre.

NekroRider | 465 comments In the middle of the Witcher series now myself and loving it. Was a fan of the games years ago but the whole series only got translated to English relatively recently unfortunately. I don't think I've ever read a series quite like it. I mean if you just want books about killing supernatural creatures there are others obviously, but I dunno to me the spirit of this series and the way Sapkowski writes it is one I find pretty unique. Interested to see what others have to say!

Saul the Heir of Isauldur (krinnok) | 91 comments If you want the monster hunter aspect, you should read Fritz Leiber's Lankhmar books. The first is Swords and Deviltry . If you want the grim dark-ish adventure feel, you could read the original Conan stories. If you enjoy the grim, pulpy fiction feel, read Michael Moorcock's Corum and Elric. And you could always try the omnibus Orcs by Stan Nicholls, which is underrated in my opinion.
