What did you think of it? Favorite or least favorite characters? Favorite or least favorite part? Will you read the next one?

message 2: by SM (new) - added it

SM I liked this book mostly I think because I like retellings. I know its the first in the series but the book kept leaving me with questions instead of any answers. I will have to read the next one in the hopes that get some answers!

message 3: by SM (new) - added it

SM Or instead of retellings, a continuation of a classic.

Aylli (humaneity) | 9 comments Once I saw the cover at the bookstore, I knew I needed to read it. I love the idea of a grim, dark, dystopian Oz where everything is turned upside down with a cruel, malicious, nasty Dorothy on the top!

(view spoiler)

Aubrie (aubbriee) Im still reading Dorothy Must Die but I can say so far.. I'm bored. I was really excited when I heard the concept, title, and synopsis, but it's a little flat for me. I feel like this book could be a stand alone, but I will be reading the next one.

Alexa I didn't think I would like the book, but I actually found it really interesting. The plot was a very cool adaptation of the original book, and I really enjoyed it! The character of Dorothy really bugged me though.

Jessica (Goldenfurpro) (goldenfurproductions) | 3164 comments I liked it, but it took me a long, long time to actually get into it.
It also kind of bugged me that (view spoiler)

Angel (angelxrocks) | 3 comments I personally really liked this book. I was anxious to read this because of the twist on Wizard of Oz.. and because I was in love with Splintered. It was long, but it definitely kept me interested. I finished the book in less than a day & now I'm suffering the consequences because... I have to wait entirely too long to continue the story. BUT (view spoiler)

Jordan Connell (tinkerer) | 8 comments I literally just finished this book. I checked it out from the Overdrive app and had to turn it back in a week, but once I started reading I couldn't stop! It was too good! I'm excited, yet slightly disappointed, that there's going to be a sequel! Disappointed because I didn't see if a certain unnamed tyrant dies or not. Definitely will be reading the next book.

Maria (mariahkeepscool) | 22 comments @Jordan I think the certain unnamed tyrant didn't die. Remember what the a certain powerful person that starts with a W said?

Jordan Connell (tinkerer) | 8 comments Maria wrote: "@Jordan I think the certain unnamed tyrant didn't die. Remember what the a certain powerful person that starts with a W said?"

Ahhh yes, she is still alive. I just was hoping to see her die in THIS book! But I'm not complaining at the news of a second book! :D

Maria (mariahkeepscool) | 22 comments haha, I think her friends are all gonna die in this book

Then last book is reserved for a special someones death

message 13: by Sarita (new)

Sarita | 1 comments I really enjoyed this, it was very different in a cool way, but I was upset by the ending being a cliffhanger. I loved the whole twist with the flying monkeys, and the twist of Dorothy having gone mad with power is pretty awesome.

message 14: by Sam (last edited Sep 15, 2014 06:34AM) (new) - rated it 3 stars

Sam It was ok. The pacing needs work and the romance had a very superficial feeling to it; I just wasn't buying it...And there were several times where I felt like throwing a red slipper at Amy. It could have been sooo much better. Here's to hoping the second will be.

Megan (megschuy16) I loved this book. took me just a day to finish it. I know personally I thought this would be a stand alone book, but was delighted to see there would be a sequel. I still need to read the novella prequel.

message 16: by Rhys (new) - rated it 5 stars

Rhys (haydenrhys) I loved this book! It's my second fav series and my fav character is Amy (I think she is kick ass) My fav part was well I can't think of one part, I loved the whole book!

Frish (stormblessedfrish) It was okay. I always felt like "this author must have had NO imagination to steal such a world. Isn't the base of a book supposed to be an original world made out of the authors fantasy?" And then i thought about all the realistic books out there. But still. I love the first line of the book though.

Lily Bannister (lilybannister) I'm reading it and am 80 pages through. I was interested but I am slowly losing interest....

trust me, it gets better!

Griffin Wagner | 4 comments I have not read it but I have seen the author

Sofia (sofia21) At first, I was extremely excited to read this book. I read it and I was surprised at how slow the pacing of the story was. It definitely wasn't a bad book, I'm just not sure that I would read the next one.

message 22: by Amy D (new) - added it

Amy D Oh my god, I want the book so bad!

message 23: by Mimi (new) - rated it 3 stars

Mimi (mimi347) Great book but I wish it had ended at the first one! It was super amazing and a great idea but I dont want to read the entire trilogy as the first book was pretty long!

message 24: by Sierra (new)

Sierra (lovefictionalguys) | 38 comments @sofi
I totally agree. It was a great book, but I thought that Amy would have killed dorthoy in the end.

message 25: by Sierra (new)

Sierra (lovefictionalguys) | 38 comments I intend to read the next one and someone tell me I am not insane for crushing on nox.

Sofia (sofia21) @okay? okay.

I totally agree about Nox! I thought that Amy was going to kill Dorothy, but it just didn't happen and that surprised me.

Margaret Self (margarloo) | 13 comments I love all things Wizard of Oz and when I first read this I thought it was going to be a standalone book. U was upset that is WASNT but have grown to accept that fact. I have read the other two prequels in this series. But the book was so good. But the prequel when Dorothy returns back to Oz has been my favorite thing in the series so far!

Lauraeimre | 49 comments Like someone already said, it was hard to get into. But when I finally got through the hard part, I flew through it. This book could have been a little bit smaller but oh well. Still an interesting read :D

Shelleen Toland I just finished this book. It was good but a little more violent than I thought it would be. Was a little hard for me at first to get used to the original Oz characters to be mean.

Kristina (heavensmommy2004) | 114 comments Slow & boring

message 31: by [deleted user] (new)

This is one of my absolute favorite books! It's really amazing, in my opinion. The sequel is kind of disappointing though. Most of the characters aren't even mentioned, and Nox is like a completely different person... :(

Katie Storm | 5 comments Loved it..wish the books were fatter!

Archie (aswarmofbees) I like this book quite a lot but is it worth reading the sequel?

Amanda (thebooknirvana) | 6 comments I will more than likely finish the first book today. It started out strong for me, and then I felt myself growing bored in the middle. I am on the last leg of the book, and it has picked up. Overall, I am really enjoying the book, and I have less than 100 pages to go. I will probably pick up the sequel, but it isn't going to be one of those "OMG I have to continue reading this a.s.a.p" kind of things.
