Trying to find a book I read ages ago, can't remember the title or author. It's about a girl that starts to restore a stone path that leads deep into a forest. I think some kind of ghosts appear at one point. She falls in love towards the end and there's an exchange that goes "...stuff chicory down your throat!... Is this your way of saying you like me?" I really don't remember it that well, if anyone knows what I'm describing, do reply!
