Where?
This roleplay takes place in Lake City, Colorado. It is in the countryside, with a small quaint town an hours drive away un a single paved road. A lake sits beside the Maxwell Mansion, and a grassy field area as well as a forest are some of the surroundings of the Academy that the mutants may explore. The site is known by the government only, and few ever disturb the school grounds. On first glance, the Academy is nothing but a private boarding school, housed in a grand mansion. Inside, things appear to be normal themselves. It is only the people, the mutants, that tell you that this is no ordinary boarding school.
When?
Present Day. It is currently around September to October, and the start of an early winter.
Who?
Mutants must be 5- 21 years of age if a student, and any age if a teacher, Elite, or staff member.
The mutants are crumbling, the peace between mutants and humans quickly diminishing. Public mutant figures slowly disappear without a trace, children go missing. Some families become ashamed, shun their own brothers and wives because of who they are.
But don't be afraid, there is still hope. There is still a chance.
Wether on the run or in the comfort of your own home, you receive a cream colored envelope with your name written neatly in someone's cursive. There is no return address, just the name, and a purple sticker seal with an insignia of a BLANK. You rip open the letter, to find that there is a single sheet of paper with simple letters typed onto them.
Dear (Name),
There’s more of your kind than you think. All around you. They could be your friends, your relatives, and even your classmates. The reason they're keeping it a secret you ask? It's just the same reason as you. They're mutants. The human world has become so harsh on us, treating us like lab rats or freaks. Soon enough, they'll decide to wipe us out because they think we're too dangerous. It makes the world unsafe for us to remain in hiding, so I'm inviting you to a safe haven for people just like you. You won't be alone at this school, where we offer safety and kindness to young mutants that are seeking help. If you want to be safe, join us here and finally be accepted for what you are. Please consider the offer.
Sincerely,
Headmaster
