S. Ferguson is a military wife and mother of three. She loves to find beauty in the flawed and broken.

*What was your inspiration for Something There In Between?

Personal experience and knowing that so many people have struggled with who they are and things that have been done to them.

*Why do you think people will enjoy Something There In Between?

Because of the raw honesty. My characters are flawed, there are no perfect people in my stories.

*What tips do you have for authors that are new to the publishing process?

Find someone reliable, that can give you good advice, and LISTEN.

*Did you self-publish your story, or was it professionally published?

I self published. I didn't have the patience for trying to wait to make a deal with a publisher and I wanted full control.

*What is some advice that you have for young, aspiring writers?

Just go for it. It's worth it as long as you keep realistic expectations.

*Did you ever picture yourself as a published author?

Yes, I did. But it took me a long time to have the confidence go for it. I wish I hadn't taken so long.

*Was writing always your passion, or did you ever have a different career in mind?

Writing was a passion as a child and I let it go to do adult things. Things came full circle when I was in my mid twenties and I've never looked back.

*What author/story do you look up to and use for ideas/inspiration?

Harper Sloane, Melanie Harlow, Aurora Rose Reynolds, too many to name.

*What do you find to be the most difficult part of the writing process?

To go with the flow of the story. I like to be in control but it is very true that when you sit down and start writing the characters and the story take on a life of their own. Sometimes you just have to roll with it.

*Can we expect some new works from you in the future?

Absolutely! Grace Between Mercy, my third book, will be releasing in early 2018.

Thank you, S., for letting us interview you, and thank you everyone for reading! If you want to help out a fellow member, click on her book image for Something There In Between and check it out!
