GailW (abbygg) | 1001 comments It's been a whirlwind of a year, professionally and reading-wise. I finished the 88 books by the skin of my teeth, reading short books for the last two. I fell short by 4 on the GCAC challenge, but finally gave up because I did not want to rush any of them just to beat a challenge! I definitely fell short on the Clear the Shelves challenge (by 21!), having read more audio than anything this year (long working hours, more commute, less time for printed books). But reading 47 new-to-me authors and 14 debuts made me feel better.

26% of my reading was in mysteries (my go-to stress relief) with a combined 34% in general and historical fiction. 37% of my reading was related to series, mainly continuations of the series. 65% of the total books were written by women, although I did not do that on purpose.

And now for 2019 I am retired (from working, not reading)!
