where do I enter how many books I plan to read in 2018 and the shelf I have included them on?

You can open your thread in the section called Personal Challenges 2018. You will find mine there, among many others. As you will see, every one has a different system for organizing their challenge.

You can use the book for more than one challenge in the Maxi and Year Long challenges.
If you use a book for a Mini challenge, you can't use it for another Mini, but you can use it for Maxi and Year long challenges.
