Hi All! Sorry to be MIA right before kick-off, but I've only just got back to a sense of normality post Christmas!
Hope you all had great holidays, and not too much in the way of family dramas!
This thing is looking more & more terrifying every snippet of info they release - there's a website for logging things this time - eeeep!
But we'll be a GREAT team, that I know!

I'm really looking forward to seeing the website and how it works.
I've been working on getting myself organized (challenges, of course) for the new year so I can start it off right!
Don't forget that this challenge is going on read dates, not start dates, so I for one am stacking up books to finish on 1st Jan!

And it's a good thing that we are in different timezones, with the 12 hour sabotage bid system.
We'll have to work out a strategy for bidding.
Oh! and a separate group probably, for planning & plotting.
I'll get on that now :)

Yes! That will work out well. With all the devious minds in this group, we'll certainly need space for planning and plotting. :)

That's what I thought too...
Shame, I have lots that would work otherwise! :)

I've invited them. I'm not friends with Amber (yet - waiting for her to accept), so if you guys are already on that, you could invite her

Cat - *hangs head* I am not already on that. But I am now!!!!
whoop!
we are now all present & correct!
Amber - the good/bad news is that you've been thrown in with a pack of Dholes - we met & bonded during Wobble the other year, and have hung out together since then. I'm positive that you'll fit right in - but maybe we should all introduce ourselves.....
How about:
Home is...
Best Christmas present...
2018 resolution most doomed to failure...
Favourite book(s) / favourite author(s)...
Fun fact...

I'm more concerned with being this team's handicap - looks like I'm your slowest reader!
For me:
I'm Catherine IRL, but Cat here on GR. Don't ask, though I blame this mob entirely!
Home is... London, UK. or wherever my family is. I've no children myself, but do have a passel of niblings who I try to see often. Though 5 days with them over Christmas nearly killed me!
Best Christmas present... honestly, apart from the fruit & nut chocolate (really, Santa? no one likes fruit & nut chocolate!) they were all winners, especially as there was a good proportion of pretty books :) The funnest was a knit-your-own stuffed badger head! (thank goodness for audio books!)
2018 resolution most doomed to failure... My flat is overflowing with books, and I am maxed out on bookshelves. So I need to cull some books. I'm coming out in a cold sweat just thining about it. I'll set an achievable target of 20 books I think! Actually, that's probably like, 1% ... maybe I should aim larger?
Favourite books... would include Wuthering Heights, Catch-22, 1984. Favourite authors... Terry Pratchett. Hands down. The only reason there's not a title of his in my favourite books is because I LOVE THEM ALL!!! (well, 80%) Generally, fantasy / sci-fi is my go-to genre, but I read everything & anything :)
Fun fact... How do you tell the difference between sheep & goats?? (view spoiler)

Do NOT think that! We all read at different paces, and everything will help. So long as you don't vanish on us you will be a perfect teamie!

Wobble was pretty intense, but fun!
You’ll be fine. Everyone read differently and you’ll contribute awesomely.

Best Christmas present... Christmas was fantastic. Great spending more time with family. I had pretty super presents, gift cards for books, new headphones and plenty of other great gifts. While it wasn’t technically gift, I had a new Kindle a last week as old one died. But then the new one wouldn’t work, so was without one for days :( Finally had a fix on Christmas Eve, so felt like a Christmas present. I’m just glad it’s all sorted before the new year and new challenges. It was hard not having one.
2018 resolution most doomed to failure... it’s not really a resolution but I do want to read more of the books I bought years ago (some 4+ years ago) and get them off my TBR. Whether I actually do it is another matter.
Favourite book(s) / favourite author(s)... it’s hard to choose favourite books. Favourite authors are Anna Bishop, Kristen Ashley, J.D. Robb, Nalini Singh, Faith Hunter. My main genres to read are Romance and Fantasy, with some sci-fi thrown in.
Fun fact...

Been meaning to read one of his books.

Ok, let's see...
Home is: The Olympic Peninsula in WA state; or, alternatively, my five kiddos, two kitties, and parents - because really, the location is irrelevant aside from the fact that that is where we all are :)
Best Christmas present: Hmm... That would have to be a gift certificate to a local "crystal shop" - looking forward to some treasure hunting!
2018 resolution most doomed to failure: None. I'm not making any. Why set myself up for failure? ;)
Favourite book(s)/favourite author(s): I can never answer this sort of question. I love so many. I can't even pick a genre. Heck, I can't even really choose between fiction or non-fiction lol Definitely a leaning toward sci-fi though...
Fun fact: I considered just leaving this off, and pretending I "missed" it. But decided to upgrade my laziness to "fact status" instead.

I'm good for that ;)

Best Christmas present...hm...I got some good ones this year. My favorite might be a game called Exploding Kittens.
2018 resolution most doomed to failure...well, there's the standard lose some weight, which will most likely end in failure, but I shall do my best.
Favourite book(s) / favourite author(s)...this is a hard one. Actually, my list lines up almost exactly with Danielle's with the exception of JD Robb and sci-fi. Not a huge fan of those.
Fun fact...I'm scared to death of moths.

I’ve read the first two in the series, but not this one yet. I’m wanting to reread books one and two first, but as they’re over 1000 pages each, I’ve not been able too yet! I was debating about getting the audios, but as they are 45+ hours. I think I’ll have more luck reading a 1000 pages over listening to 45 hours.
