Best Christmas present... Ooooh i got some lovely gifts but BEST was getting to see my grandchildren opening their presents on Christmas day
2018 resolution most doomed to failure... not getting at Hubby - he is having knee replacement on 22nd January and is sure to drive me mad
Favourite book(s) / favourite author(s)...
I have different loves for different times [
I think [author:Jasper Fforde|4432] is really inventive funny and clever
I love relaxing with an easy read from Agatha Christie or Sara Alexi
For more deep reading Paul Auster is amazing as is Amor Towles
I also love non fiction book:And the Band Played On: Politics, People, and the AIDS Epidemic|28212] is excellent
Best book of all time Sophie's World
Fun fact... two for the price of one
I have just had cataract surgery and am walking round with glasses with only one lens in - makes for some funny looks
We have walked 350 miles of the the 650 South west Coast path

I'm more concerned with being this team's handicap - looks like I'm your slowest reader!"
don't worry Amber we all read differently

I’m with you there. I hate moths and butterflies."
oh! what's the worst they can do? eat your clothes?
don't get me wrong, flying creatures in your face aren't much fun, but of all the critters with wings, I always thought of moths & flutterbys as the least offensive going.
I actually live in the Camberwell district of London, and so there are a number of butterfly images scattered around in honour of the Camberwell Beauty, though in deference to your dislike I'll put no link up

When I was about 8 we went to Longleat and whilst there went in the Butterfly House. Having so many flying around freaked the hell out of me. Haven’t liked them since.

ah, yeah, that'd do it.
My mother hates flapping things (why she let us have canaries when we were little escapes me) so I was never exposed to vast hordes of flapping wings during my formative years. fer-yew!

You know how butterfly exhibits are a thing right now at botanical gardens and such? I'd rather cut my eye out than go to one of those.
Yeah, movies or stories purporting to be kid-friendly and then just NOT. Hate 'em! (hilariously my nephew, who loves his Saturday movie, has to run out of the room everytime it gets scary. The bit in Finding Nemo with the jelly fish - he's outta there! Funny boy)
Which reminds me of something else I hate: the glaring differences between how movies treat pets & how books/stories treat pets.
In movies, 100% the pet will live
In books, the pet snuffs it.
To this day my family can make me emotional over I Am David; the Welsh story of Gelert (and we used to holiday in Wales every year, necessitating going past Begelert, and my parents, the bastards, retelling the story) or, worst of all, the various stories in Oscar Wilde's The Happy Prince and Other Stories.

This game is nearly legendary in the eyes of some dear friends of mine. I need to get around to acquiring it so I can find out why! lol
The "extension," Imploding Kittens, is apparently also quite essential...

I’ve read the first two in the series, but not this one yet. I’m wanting to reread books one and two first, but as they’re over 1000 pages each, I..."
I have not, but the first of the series has been sitting in my "To Read" pile for some time now... I should get going on that ;)

Yes! We had a lot of fun playing over the holiday. I have every intention of getting Imploding Kittens soon. :P

Home is... suburbs of Philadelphia, PA
Best Christmas present...of all time? My husband (we were married on 12/23/2000)
but this year? The cruise of course!
2018 resolution most doomed to failure... to take the time to get a massage at least once a month. I really want to stick to this one but I know other things will come up!
Favourite book(s) / favourite author(s)... I can't name favorite books but I can name favorite authors: Nalini
Singh, JD Robb, Sue Grafton (RIP), JR Ward, Anne Bishop, Sawyer Bennett, Lauren Blakely.
I'm a total Romancaholic, but I'll try any genre.
Fun fact... my mother-in-law and I have the same birthday and we are both left handed. I truly believe my husband only married me because he wouldn't have to remember another birthday! LOL

I’ve read the first two in the series, but not this one yet. I’m wanting to reread books one and two first, but as they’re over 1000 pages each, I..."
I've added them to my TBR but it will definitely be after this challenge for me to try to tackle them. LOL

I tried, but then saw in Kelly’s message that it wouldn’t work from iPad. So can’t do it.

Home is...
In the UK. Oh ok, if I must be more specific, in the southwest.
Best Christmas present...
My sister does a photo calendar of all the niblings (three nieces, one nephew) every year, and that is always the best present! It's especially funny when little ones look grumpy. ;)
2018 resolution most doomed to failure...
To read all those long books I'm forever putting off because they are too slow for challenges.
Favourite book(s) / favourite author(s)...
Impossible! I couldn't possibly work it out. I do share the love for Terry Pratchett though. I <3 Tiffany Aching.
Fun fact...
I picked this one up from a QI book, and just googled it to make sure I wasn't hallucinating:
Peanut butter can be turned into diamonds. True!

but this year? The cruise of course!"
Oh yea, for the best gift of all time I have to change my answer: That would be my youngest child! His birthday is Christmas :)

My house is still a mess from the holidays. My kids keep growing (how dare they...) and can reach EVERYTHING. I'm afraid I'm going to have to clean soon...

I have an "occasionally Easter baby" as well, though it wasn't the year he actually arrived. I'm feeling ya on the growing thing. I keep instructing mine to slow it down, but they are utterly defiant when it comes to that ;) My oldest and I can share clothes now. It's practically traumatizing.

You have been fined $300
Love in the Afternoon has been used for pet rabbit, however the only reference to a rabbit is "The servants were still accustoming themselves to the new residents of the stables and the house, including the cat, hedgehog, goat, bird and rabbits, the mule and so forth"
