I had never heard about goodreads before starting this class, but I am impressed with what I have found so far on the website. I selected the book Soonish by Kelly Weinersmith. The book isn't about technology specifically as it applies to school, but rather just 10 emerging technologies that apply to many fields. From the preview the books looks really interesting and funny.

What is good and unusual about this book is that it covers potential downsides from the technology. Most books about tech tend to be by inventors or boosters of it and therefore they are sometimes overly optimistic and emphasize benefits and promise of the tech and gloss over potential problems.
