It is very suspicious that you are able to find the time to do all this, even more so, given the fact that you and Harry are inseparable, which of course, I’m sure Ginny would be delighted to hear. Tell me, you wouldn’t happen to have the Time-Turner with you now, would you? Because there are regulations to follow when using it, you know. And as a law abiding citizen, who is in fact, employed in the study of time and the creation of a character called ‘The Time Lord�, whom you will come to know in about thirty years, I might be tempted to report any unregulated misuse, resulting in the disturbance of the Space-Time continuum and the subsequent disruption of my research. I’m sure that Ginny would just love to cover that news. But unfortunately, this is not the time for selling out fellow sorcerers. Something is brewing in the wizard world, Axy. There are mumblings of something evil approaching, and we must prepare ourselves for the worst. So I’ll make you a deal. Be a good girl and dispatch your owl with the Time-Turner to my address. I have a few, tiny, insignificant things to change about my past, like going for Literature and Creative-writing instead of the useless Muggle Engineering of Electrical, after which I promise, I shall return to you the artefact, for which I shall have no further use. Yes, I am aware of the five hour rule and the number of turns required, but I’m prepared to go through with it. You don’t want the most creative wizard alive to be unprepared for the next Great War, do you? If you oblige, I shall be so indebted to you that, upon receiving it, I shall immediately send back to you, with your owl, a beautiful rubber duck. Oops seems as if I misplaced the time turner or maybe it is Dumbly's nefarious scheme. Now my prolific activities are because of my extremely efficient time management (read whenever you can, write when you're mad, think while doing the boring things in life like bathing n going to college n sleep the rest of the time....mostly during lectures). Ginny and I have an understanding, by the way. She gets to keep him in HPverse and I get to keep him here....she agreed to it coz she knew that if I entered HPverse Harry would find it impossible to choose between me and her :P I would love to meet the Time Lord and if he is as enticing as his name is, well you never know, Harry may have competition.
As for being as engineer cum wizard, well, ditto. I'm a boring muggle born CS engineer too....but let me tell you a secret, that's just a front. I'm an awesome, crazy, bibliophile witch at heart. Before I could use the time turner to turn back time and choose English Lit at DU instead of engg, dear old Dumbledore interfered.....and now, I don't have the time turner any more (suspicious, right?)......so Mr. Holmes, here is what I propose.....let us join forces and try to recover the time turner and then we can both make these minor changes to our past....you in?

Akansha, I was not aware of the report on the preservation of our people. It seems the ministry is still keeping secrets from us. Yes, I will take care of my health. Magic should not die out from our lands. In all my travels through the Muggle world, I have never come across a witch who could match me word for word, wit for wit, spell for spell. I’ll be honoured to embark on this quest with you, “The quest for the lost Time-Turner�. I was hoping the rumours weren’t true, though. So, for once, Rita Skeeter’s gossips carry a bit of truth in them. Harry’s marriage is on the rocks. That means the Time-Turner wasn’t misplaced, Akansha, I believe it was stolen from you. A friend of mine, who is coincidently married to Luna Lovegood, who happens to be Harry’s close friend, said that she had told him, that Harry had told her that Hermione had told him that she had come to know of his secret lover. I assume, being the previous owner of the Time-Turner, you were Dumbledore’s favourite student before his death. I am truly sorry for your loss. He was a great wizard. I can only further assume, that that would mean you had asked him, like most other girls with a crush on Harry, to be introduced to him, which he would have obliged, considering your academic reputation. Knowing Hermione, and the mad things she does to keep Harry and Ron friends, which would have to be even madder if you came between Harry and Ginny, she must have gone through the Ministry records, or used some ancient spell, to know everything about you. That would mean that she came to know of the Time-Turner in your possession, which she may have assumed, you use to meet Harry, at the exact times that Ginny is away, which would further mean that she has somehow stolen and hidden it somewhere. I don’t think that to be what Dumbledore had wished. I believe he wanted you to have it. So I will help you get it back. But if you ask me, Hermione is the most powerful witch in the world. Harry may have the courage, but she has the knowledge. Now, you may also be a bookworm like her, but she has years on you, and going by the rate at which she devours books, that will be a lot, so to speak. It will be like snatching a flame from the sun. Exciting! I’m in. We must find some help though. There must be a few witches here whose loyalty you command. Purvika looks like a promising recruit. We’ll get together and do some serious plotting. That’s all for now. Oh, and about the time lord, he is not a very romantic person, he just runs around killing people. But if you are into that sort of a thing, hey, I’m not going to stop you.

PS : It seems the muggles use this portal for telling ten random things about themselves. How very fascinating. I too told my own ten fictional things, the real things of course, they wouldn’t believe. The muggles reading our letters would probably think it to be gibberish. So for now we are safe. But to be sure, let us conduct all further communications in another secret portal. Until that opens, we’ll use the owls. Do we have an accord? The first of my plans will arrive at your window in a few hours. Keep it open.

PPS : The bird bites. Harry has a scar on his right index finger to prove it. Yes, it had once had once been sent to him by his uncle who had borrowed it from my family.

PPPS : Did I write that I was Sherlock Holmes in the previous letter? A fascinating muggle I was trying to impersonate. I think I added a little too much Knotgrass in my Polyjuice Potion. Please, call me Akhil. At your service.

Point taken into account Akhil....let's create a new thread.....so that anyone who wants to join our quest can. Right now I'm stranded at a muggle railway station (how i miss King's Cross).....so won't write much now....but as soon as I reach, I will contact you and we can discuss the theories I have.

Now that you know how this thread started, you're welcome to join us and help us uncover the lost time turner(I promise, we will let everyone use it to undo those minor changes to our pasts that we have always wanted to make)....just bear with us...and for starters, why don't you all comment with your names, the role you intend to play, your jobs,your strengths and weaknesses as well as the one thing that you would like to change. Once we know each other, we can organise this search better and make every talent count :)

Dear Indian Readers, Greetings from the lost world of the lost time. Am THE pet rat of the youngest weasely boy before being replaced by another with a missing toe and that dumb red head didnt even realize it. To earn my living i took part in many a rat race, and even tried cheating once using a time turner. Ever since am stuckng in this warp of a time, involuntarily jumping around all the time. If any of you find the turner, please get to me and get me out. Am leaving this message in a bottle in the room of requirement. Hope someone finds it!

Oh Blimey, this Marauder's Map often make me forget the things I ought to do. I was suppose to help in the time turner quest and I was busy following Longbottom. Please accept my apologies. You see, he once used time turner to search his rememberall that Malfoy took and hid in the room of requirements. I have a nagging feeling that Longbottom took that turner and then Forgot where he kept it. Rest assured we will find it Now that I , the great grand daughter of professor McGonagall is here.

And so it begins. A new chapter in the story of the witches and wizards of our time. The portal has been opened, and all who are loyal to our cause, have been summoned. For those of you, who haven’t yet received word, one of our comrades has lost The Time-Turner, and has called upon us to help her recover it. In return for our help, we are promised a chance at changing our past. Now tell me, who doesn’t want to do that? So let us join forces and find this thing before it falls into the wrong hands. There are many dark wizards who are more than willing to give it a very generous twist. Let us make like the wind and sweep through the lands. Let us not rest until we have it in our hands.

At present we have just a few leads, but at least we have somewhere to start. I, for one, am of the opinion that, it could be Hermione who has stolen it. But I have been wrong before. Terribly. Purvi thinks Longbottom may have something to do with it. Akansha, you should start with Mundungus. Track him down. There can’t be a robbery in the world without him knowing about it. And do take Smitha with you. She may be silent, but she is skilled in the Defence Against the Dark Arts.

And someone needs to talk to Hagrid. If there are any secrets in Hogwarts, he’ll know about it. And he’ll talk about it. While they are at it, they should search in the Room of Requirements and check the authenticity of Scabbers� message. It could be a trap by another wizard. Or maybe Scabbers left it there before he used the Time Turner, and planned to destroy it if everything went as planned. If that be the case, the fact that we recovered the message means that something had gone terribly wrong. Scabbers can be a good leverage, in case we need Ron’s help.

I will try to track down Luna and Rolf, who last I heard, were chasing rumours of a new dragon in the Western Ghats. It so happens that I know how to find one. Maybe they’ll give us some vital information in exchange for my help in finding one. I will write to you all as soon as I have news, that is, if I don’t end up as dragon lunch. Good Luck.

Hurray, i know where it is, i know where it is! In one of my warped travels, i came upon this thread in future. And i noticed something FISHy right away. Axy, u know what to do, get her here right now and we will get the truth out of her. Oh boy, am really loving my timeless journeys. Who wants to be a millionaire? ;)

A.K.Hill - Stay safe in your quest, let not the AK curse find u! Why would i kill my golden goose and plan to destroy the time turner? The last i checked in the sewers beneath the Hogwarts kitchen, am still a rat, not a wizardly brat! Grrrr! If things go south, i plan to go south too and meet my brother Ratatouille and see what he is up to.

Grandaugonagall - I saw a chubby kid in the room of requirements when am leaving my message here. He seems to be so much more lost than me. To think he has the time turner, gosh! I must have missed it by a whisker. I will keep looking for him, though he might not be of much help if i met him somewhere in future - that kid looked to be having the memory of a ant!

Oh no no Mr Scabbers, I would never doubt the noble intentions of anyone as cute and cuddly, as you. You misunderstood me. What I meant was that, you would have destroyed the message in the glass bottle if everything had worked out for you, as planned. I was of the assumption that no one trapped in an infinite time loop would be able to free himself and write the message. You, being such an intelligent mouse, had written it before you used the Time-Turner, as a precaution, planning to destroy it after your successful mission. Don't worry. Future or past, whenever you are, we'll find you and help you get back.

Speaking of help, I received a letter from my beloved sister, Sridevi. It seems we may have a new recruit.

Last night I found a spider and took it to hagrid . He was sure he heard Hermione talking about a trip to the past. He assured me the information is not exaggerated or false, he said that Hermione along with Ginny wanted to learn how to create a certain spell that was used in the first generation of potters. He furthermore heard that, Hermione had seen longbottom slipping into room of requirements and followed him. After that she started talking in hushed tone and went away.

Looks like we may have trouble here as they might already be in past. Oh Merlin's beard !!! What should we do now,?

Scabbers, the original, yes yes.... He is long bottom ..... You seem very helpful here. We might need your help after all !!!

Oh my! Well that explains the years of hostility from young muggle students. I can assure you young Purvi, I'm not this A.K.Hill, muggle writer of torturous text books or dark wizard, practitioner of the A.K curse. I am Akhil Ravenclaw, known among my friends simply as Akira. Now don't ask me if i have anything to do with muggle movies. I don't. I am a Magizoologist, and I love dragons. Well, actually i am a Dragonologist.

So Ginny and Hermione are after an ancient spell ha? You should follow that lead and report everything you find. Any details of the spell will be helpful. Be careful. Hagrid would gladly have told hermione that you had inquired about her. She would be suspicious of you.

Hey folks...good to see the enthusiasm..I'm back and back with real news. I had to go hunting the deepest, darkest parts of the Black House for this ( my neighbors, you know?) and I git lost reading some really fascinating accounts of Merlin's (He had an illicit affair with one of the Blacks and hence, his diaries wound up there) experiments with time. I thought they may prove useful and I completely lost track of time. Fist of all, I would like to make it clear that this is SERIOUS. Until and unless we find the Time Turner back, there is a chance that one of these careless idiots who stole it from me may end up destroying the world. Merlin's diaries mention something about tearing apart the time-space fabric if the perpetrator strays too far into the future or the past and makes BIG CHANGES. Minor ones are fine :) There is a time limit too....and if he stays past that, again we could be in danger of apocalypse.

Now that we know what's at stake, I have some good news too. Merlin believes that there is a way to travel to the past or the future without the time turner but we would not be able to make any changes. We can talk to people but now affect anything. Now, I have a plan. First of all we need the ingredients for the potion that we will have to drink. We need a lot of help for that. Merlin believes the potion cannot be prepared without the time turner as it requires things from the past and the future BUT we are lucky, we have scabbers. We will leave a note for him in the room of requirement and hope he finds it there. So here's the list of ingredients you guys have to find:
1. A cauldron made from equal parts iron, pewter and silver.
2. A dragon scale for each time we wish to travel (Akhil, this is your job.)
3. Basilisk eyeballs (we need someone with access to Chamber of secrets, the carcass is still there and we can get the eyeballs)
4. A watch
5. Water from the holy river Ganga (yeah, Merlin had to visit India for this)
6. Something from the future and the past....could be anything really.
7. Time-Rose

To Scabbers: Your job is to grab something from the future and the past and leave it in the Room of Requirements.

As soon as you find something post it here. Once we have all the ingredient, we will start.

In the meanwhile, there is an incantation that we're supposed to speak over the potion and it is not in Merlin's diaries. I'm going to search for it and find it as soon as possible.

P.S. Akhil, I'm onto it. I'll get someone to trail Mundungus.

Purvika: I have a job for you too. You need to find Neville and get the required Time-rose from him..it's a plant that starts as a tree and goes back to seed as it grows. Neville will know about it.

Well, well, well. Look who it is. My young cousin Sakura. Its with great pleasure that I, on behalf of my friends here, welcome you to join our quest. But, be warned, this could get dangerous. Of course, danger has never scared you, has it?

Yes we should hold a meeting. Presently, I am tracking down your grandma and grandpa through the Western Ghats. They are really hard to find, even harder than the dragon they are looking for. We'll meet as soon as I'm finished here.

Btw, you are Luna's grand daughter, you say? Lorcan and Lysander are barely a few years old. How do you explain that? Unless of course, you are a time traveller as well. The Ravenclaw family is quite spread out in time, so you can be her grand daughter, and still be my cousin. No confusion there. But how did you travel back to the present time?

And young lady, there is not going to be any fun here. We are serious people on a serious mission. People could die you know? Yesterday, I caught this really cute toad for you. I'll bring it to the meeting. Take care. :D

Akansha - Oooh! Dragon scale. I will bring as much as I can. The first dragon that comes my way better be prepared for some cold days ahead. :P

I'll post the detailed report of my mission, soon. Right now, I'm trying to keep warm. The rain is pouring down outside and its too dark. Not even thunder. Lets hope the morning brings a clear sky and I can continue on my quest. Take care.

My dear cousin , I had to travel back to this time period in order to fulfill my prophecy which unfortunately belonged to one of those smashed up in The Department of Mysteries. No one knows about the quest I was destined for .. not even my Grandma who has these wonderful flashes of future ... a bit of seer blood in the family .. as that famous Muggle Sherlock Holmes observed "Art in the blood can take various forms" ...

This is one of the main reasons for me to find the Time Turner .. so that when my mission (dont know it still..) is over I can get back to my time ... and about the time confusions of me being your cousin .. I advise you to watch a form of Muggle entertainment known as a film, specifically one named "TERMINATOR" .. It was modelled out of this very phenomenon ... That should give you some answers ..

Akansha: Hey, I sneaked in {thanks to my teleporting skills!! ;)} and found some REALLY old parchments about Merlin penned by none other than Augustus Flamel (an ancestor of Nicholas Flamel, the celebrated alchemist). But these are written mostly in Runes and ... believe it or not some in SANSKRIT!!! I guess these are the records of the period when he came to India to collect the Holy Water from Ganga ...

Someone please lend me a copy of Spellman's Syllabary?? I need to atleast catalogue this stuff!!

Oh I am extremely ashamed of my non responsive behavior. You see I was stuck as a parrot when one of my cousin tried Transfiguration on me. Then they took me to their home and kept me in a cage. I would have been stuck there of not for their pet cat Fudge, who by Merlin's grace tried to shred me into pieces, I fought tooth and nail , got my chance and flew away . finally I saw a wand as a toy in one of the muggles' window, and now I am here. Blimey, what an adventure.


Ahem...ohk back to topic at hand . I see I have been given a task. And I will look for Neville. And I know just where to find him. I will be back soon.

Btw I never explained. Muggles doesn't know my real name so they call me purvika. My actual name which my grandmother kept was Augusti. And my mother called me Autumn. And my sister calls me Frosty but she will use Cruciatus Curse on whomever called me Frosty. That's all :D
