Yessss.. I made another top 5. Long time since last and I got an idea.
Lots of books do dedications. Would be fun to see what are you guys faves.
Mine:
- Queens of Geek by Jen Wilde , to the weirdos, the geeks, and the fandom queens.
To the outcasts, the misfits, and everything in between.
The days of playing the sidekick is over. You are the superhero now. You are my people, and this is for you.
- Sovereign (Nemesis, #2) by April Daniels for the girls who are free
- Every Derek Landy dedication
- My Lady Jane (The Lady Janies, #1) by Cynthia Hand
-
I`ll add in number 5 later.

Ashley Marie Great choices, Oda!

Mine aren't in any particular order, but five of my favorite dedications/pre-story notes:

Rachel Caine's PAPER AND FIRE:
"To the scholars. To the students. To the librarians. To those who fight for all of those every day. Shine the light."

Victor Hugo's LES MISERABLES:
"So long as there shall exist, by reason of law and custom, a social condemnation which, in the midst of civilization, artificially creates a hell on earth, and complicates with human fatality a destiny that is divine; so long as the three problems of the century-- the degradation of man by the exploitation of his labor, the ruin of woman by starvation, and the atrophy of childhood by physical and spiritual night-- are not solved; so long as, in certain regions, social asphyxia shall be possible; in other words, and from a still broader point of view, so long as ignorance and misery remain on earth, there should be a need for books such as this."

JK Rowling's HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS:
"The dedication of this book
is split seven ways:
To Neil,
To Jessica,
To David,
To Kenzie,
To Di,
To Anne,
And to you,
If you have stuck with Harry
Until the very end."

NK Jemisin's THE FIFTH SEASON:
"For all those who have to fight for the respect that everyone else is given without question."

Stephen King's IT:
"Kids, fiction is the truth inside the lie, and the truth of this fiction is simple enough: the magic exists."

Great picks ladies! I confess I normally don't read dedications but I am loving these.

I tend to always read the dedidactions. Yes I`m a nerd.

Ashley Marie I started reading dedications more and more over the last few years. Sometimes they're simple, sometimes they're nonexistent, and other times they're really far-reaching and I love them.
