In joining this review group you have agreed to review the novels assigned to you on a two month schedule. This group is now in the review phase and is no longer open for sign up.
This is a General Fantasy Review Group. As with other review groups, you will be expected to read and give an honest review of the books assigned to you. Assignments will be made after the group sign-up has filled.

Participants are expected to post reviews to Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ. The review should be posted to Amazon (US and UK) as well, if the book is available there. This makes having accounts with both Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ and Amazon.com a requirement.

Contact the authors you are scheduled to review to arrange to receive a review copy of their work. Note that Amazon has made a minor change in how reviews are displayed. As long as a review that is not verified as a purchase is recent, it will be displayed on the book's Amazon page. Once it rolls off, it will still be counted in the ranking of the book, but the link to show more reviews has been modified by Amazon to show only reviews that come from verified purchases. Authors may consider gifting their book to assigned reviewers so that they will qualify as verified purchases. Reviewers may bypass this limitation by offering to purchase the books assigned to them. All of this is voluntary. Authors may still provide review copies for free, and reviewers can still post reviews to Amazon that are not from a verified purchase. This change in Amazon policy has no effect on Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ.

Please post to this topic, both when you receive review copies and when you post the reviews.

If you are going to be late with your review, either post to this topic as soon as possible or message the author and the moderator.

If your book has not been reviewed by the deadline for either round, contact the review group moderator. This is necessary to make certain that the review process is fair for everyone.

Note that any participant who makes no effort to fulfill his or her commitment to this group will have all reviews of his or her work resulting from this group deleted and his or her membership in the Genre Specific Review Group will be terminated.

Tristen Kozinski | 52 comments I'll join with The City of Locked Doors.
/book/show/3...
Of the potential participants, Thomas is already reading it from another group and Scott previously tried it and found it not to his liking.

Scott Spotson (scottspotson) | 272 comments Scott Spotson, Seeking Dr. Magic

message 4: by April (new)

April Taylor | 7 comments I’d like to join. My book is a dark fairy tale/dark fantasy. It’s also a Kindle Short Read, which will make it a nice, quick read for whoever gets it. :)

Title - Vasilisa the Terrible: A Baba Yaga Story.

Amazon Link (it’s free for KU members) -

Thomas Green | 4 comments Thomas JL Green, Legacy of Dreams (), cannot to Tristen's book for I'm already reading it for another group.

Otherwise, my book is kinda grimdark-ish and adult in all themes (I know some people aren't into it, so I'm putting it here as a warning).

It's a general round, so anything goes. Nothing wrong with a bit of grimdark.

message 23: by Scott (new)

Scott Spotson (scottspotson) | 272 comments Hi L.N., here is a full list, to date, of clashes.

There doesn't seem to be any problem finding a substitute book to read for myself or for anyone I'm reviewing.

Have reviewed me:

K.T, Steve.

I have reviewed:

Tristen, James, Chris, and Christopher

No prior contact:

April, Thomas

Thanks.

message 24: by K.T. (new)

K.T. Munson | 278 comments I’ve reviewed Scott but not this book. I’ve reviewed the mosaic. Christopher has reviewed me but not this book, but he doesn’t like YA and this is another YA. Tristan has reviewed me but I don’t think it was this book.

I think that’s all.

I am this close to going to bed, so what I will do is give you a BYE, and I will read K.T's book. Although, I have nothing to offer this round, I can at least act as an Alternate reviewer.

message 28: by Chris (new)

Chris Keaton | 134 comments I've purchased Thomas J.L. Green, Legacy of Dreams.

The Mosaic is out there at a reduced price of $2.99.

message 29: by Chris (new)

Chris Keaton | 134 comments Is it the normal practice in these groups to get the book for free or to purchase them? I just want to make sure I'm following what 'should' be done?

message 30: by L.N. (new)

L.N. Denison | 758 comments Mod
usually, pick it up on KU or ask the author for a file...or if the book is cheap enough, just by it. There is no real rule on how you pick up the books.

message 31: by Chris (new)

Chris Keaton | 134 comments Thanks, I won't be offended if people ask for a free copy. :)

message 32: by Chris (new)

Chris Keaton | 134 comments I've sent The Mosaic to both reviewers.

That appears to be a misprint. Just looked and the page count is 318...so not as bad.
