Hey everyone!
I know there are a lot of topics around this kinda thing but I figured it wouldn't hurt to make another?

I've got a couple books lined up to read for now, but they won't last forever. Thought I'd ask if anyone has any good horror recommendations?

I'm a big fan of anything involving monsters, especially vampires. I also love the old spooky asylum theme, some supernatural-ghost stuff and psychological things (think Misery.)

I don't really like to read anything involving the occult, or with a heavy romantic subplot. Historical horror, however, is more than welcome.

I don't mind YA if you've got a good one (I quite like the Asylum series) but I'm really interested in reading more "adult" horror novels. I don't seem to have a lot of luck, finding them.

Any recs?

Brian Lumley Necroscope series i would recommend. Its got vampires but with a different type of twist.

Then Joe McKinney has a good zombie series as well

I love "We're Alive" We're Alive: A Story of Survival, the First Season

The series is about zombies, with a twist. And it starts on the day the zombie plague (for lack of a better term) begins

As far as sinister asylum stories go, I can recommend Rawblood and The Silent Companions

Draculas One of the few vampire books I've been willing to read in a while. I've gotten a bit burned out on vampires, werewolves and zombies.

Nostradamus. by Peter Cawdron (Terrific book with twists)
Ancient Enemy by Mark Lukens (Not vampire but great)
The Gorge by Scott Nicholson (very different)
The Haunted Forest Tour. (No vampires but monsters galore) A favorite of mine, very unique!!

Draculas is a fun read!

Is Draculas a really good book or just short stories? It is on sale right now, so I'm very curious since there are very mixed reviews!!

It's a book with 4 writers collaborating. They are all good horror writers. I enjoyed Draculas, and I believe there's a sequel I haven't read yet. I'd say it's worth a look if it's on sale.

Night shift by Stephen king

I’m trying to decide on my next goodRead and I like to read something that incorporates elements of the particular season I’m reading. For example Jaws was a perfect summer and terminal freeze was a great winter read while the Dark Half was a nice fit for the fall. Any suggestions for April??

Seconding the Necroscope series. I'm only barely into the first one, but it's already churning along really well.

Oh wow this sounds creepy...definitely adding that to my list.

I recommend The House Next Door. Great writing, and scary.
