Connie (proseandconnie) Me too! CoHF made me cry more because it was the last book than because it was sad (though there were plenty of heartbreaking moments). The epilogue was really cute~

message 3: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Stoolfire I enjoyed the epilogue of the final book as well. I was hooked right from the beginning of the series.

I agree. I was so upset about CoHF and didn't want the series to end!! Also the deaths in CoHF were upsetting): well a couple of them.

I've only read the first two books and I enjoy them, but don't love them? I just don't get the whole obsession with it... :(

I loved this series!

I love the series, and I don't say this very often about books, but I am glad that the author kept going with the series with a total of seven books.

message 10: by [deleted user] (new)

It's six books actually! But she's writing three more shadowhunter series

Oh yeah, I was counting the first book in the infernal devices

message 12: by [deleted user] (new)

Ok there's actually 9 books total if you're counting that way

message 13: by Rachel (new)

Rachel (APCB Reviews) (gr8rach) This series is one of my favorites!! 2nd favorite behind Throne of Glass. This series was the one that made me love reading, so it will always have a special place in my bookish heart <3 ;)

message 14: by Rachel (new)

Rachel (APCB Reviews) (gr8rach) I just love the action and attack, the writing, the characters, the humor, the romance, the twists, the setting, everything!!

message 15: by Rachel (new)

Rachel (APCB Reviews) (gr8rach) I will read anything that Cassie Clare writes <3

message 16: by [deleted user] (new)

I LOVE This Series xD

City of Heavenly Fire Was The EPIC Finale

message 17: by Rachel (new)

Rachel (APCB Reviews) (gr8rach) CoHF was pretty EPIC :)

In all honesty, I don't understand why people get SO obsessed about these books...

message 19: by [deleted user] (new)

I love them but we all have our own opinions I actually prefer the infernal devices

message 20: by [deleted user] (new)

Awesome. I really liked COHV but the end was sad.

COHF was perfection!

For a lot of people (myself included) it was my first YA book, the one that made me love reading :)

(:

message 25: by Maya (new)

Maya (ladycarstairs31) | 504 comments I have been waiting forever to get the last book, and since it's so long I've all but forgotten how unsatisfactory the past 2 books are. And since I recently watched the (I'd been wanting to since I first read City of Bones) movie, I'm a Clace shipper again.

Jordyn | 2757 comments Mod
A lot of people say that they don't like the 4th and 5th books but I find them as good as the other 3! But COHF is the all time best. I don't like Clace. I wish Clary wasn't a main charcter. Shes childish and bland. Alec and Magnus and Simon and Izzy are better in my opinion

message 27: by Maya (new)

Maya (ladycarstairs31) | 504 comments I like Clary as the main character most of the time...But sometimes she's pretty stupid and impulsive which annoys me. That was one of the main reasons I didn't like books four and five.

Wait- so Clary is still stupid in the later books?!?!?!

message 29: by Maya (new)

Maya (ladycarstairs31) | 504 comments Not as much in the last book, as far as I can tell, but in the fourth and fifth, especially the fourth, yeah.

Clary isn't really awful to me but I don't like her much. Like you said she can be stupid and just she doesn't seem like a good main character. I would like her more if her role was like the size of Izzy's or someone.

I definitely agree with that! Maybe even smaller for me :P

Angie~ Faery of Weirdness (angiegoddessofweirdness) | 63 comments Hmmm... You know I get what you guys mean with Clary..:)
I'm new so to randomly join the convo I think that Clary is sort of a typical Damsel in Distress*modernized*....:P

That's such a perfect description. I really do feel like she is a Mary Sue type character. And I really hate her for it.....I wish I liked this series more....

Angie~ Faery of Weirdness (angiegoddessofweirdness) | 63 comments Yeah, Agreed. However, I did like the book/series for the action and the strong character's personalities.:)

message 36: by Riya (new)

Riya | 846 comments Mod
I thought the plot was interesting, but none of the characters really got to me. Clary had no personality, Jace was annoying, Simon was too whiny, etc. AND (I had a HUGE problem here). There's a whole Star Wars reference in the first book about the whole Hans-Leia I love you, I know thing. HOWEVER- Cassandra Clare said it was from the WRONG star wars movie?!?!??! LIKE WHAT!??!? If you're gonna write an awesome nerd line and reference star wars, you can't MESS IT UP!??!?!

You've taken the words straight out of my mind, my good friend. We think very similarly.:)

Haha that's awesome :D

Angie~ Faery of Weirdness (angiegoddessofweirdness) | 63 comments And hey, the only character that I seemed to like was Magnus. He was the only one who made things slightly a bit more interesting, yet, his relationship with Alec sort of wrecked it but what else is there to criticise about this series/book?...:P

message 40: by Riya (new)

Riya | 846 comments Mod
I feel like I should've found Magnus but I found his relationship with Alec really creepy....cause he's over 300 years old...yet his relationship with Alec didn't seem very mature in my mind?

message 41: by Maya (new)

Maya (ladycarstairs31) | 504 comments He wasn't too mature about his relationship with Alec!

Maya wrote: "He wasn't too mature about his relationship with Alec!"

Yeah- I'm saying he was too immature about it!

message 43: by Maya (new)

Maya (ladycarstairs31) | 504 comments And that's what got him into all that trouble.

message 44: by Alison (new)

Alison Morquecho (thebookishcamper) | 77 comments I liked this series but def didn't love it. I liked tid a lot more! and I didn't like the movie at all. there were only a few scenes I actually liked

message 45: by Maya (new)

Maya (ladycarstairs31) | 504 comments Yeah, I just finished CoHF and loved it, but unfortunately I unknowingly proceeded to the epilogue without reading TID first. So, spoilers for me! :(

message 46: by Emily (new)

Emily It is a great series to dive into and lose yourself in. Always interesting and the author has been very imaginative to write something like it. However once you return to the real world and think it through, the characters are quite plain and it is all rather unrealistic. However, I definitely enjoyed reading the books! I look forward to reading TID.

BriboSwaggins :) | 49 comments Love it! IT'S IN THE FAVOURITES LIST FOR ME!

Maya-Glad you like it! It's truly incredible (:

Maya (ladycarstairs31) | 504 comments Yeah. I've heard that it's better than TMI, so it must be really good!
