Erin (eisawesome) | 1215 comments Mod
oh, I do the same thing and when I go back to school, it takes me like a week to remember what I had learned( or that I had a brain)

message 22: by [deleted user] (new)

That's hilarious my brain just plays jump rope or something while I try to work and learn because nothing sticks

message 24: by [deleted user] (new)

But I'm an awesome daydreamer... My teachers say that's a bad thing but idk

message 25: by Erin, Director of Fun and Games (new)

Erin (eisawesome) | 1215 comments Mod
I tend to daydream a lot and then my brain likes to ''turn off''

message 26: by [deleted user] (new)

Haha good term. I can literally do this thing with my eyes and the world goes fuzzy then I can imagine where I wANt to go and I'm there again I'm a good daydreamer

message 27: by Jordyn, Organizer Lieutenant (new)

Jordyn | 2757 comments Mod
Oh my gosh same! Except I'll just stare at something thinking about stuff and zone off to space

message 28: by [deleted user] (new)

Yes I like to create stories in my head like movies and they continue each day

message 29: by Erin, Director of Fun and Games (new)

Erin (eisawesome) | 1215 comments Mod
All I have to do is think about something that has nothing to do with what is going on

message 30: by [deleted user] (new)

Haha yes that's exactly this. I'm seriously cracking up over that Erin. Like my teacher wants us to think math I think about flowers, conjugating verbs or thinking about Xmas seriously my brain works like that

message 31: by Erin, Director of Fun and Games (new)

Erin (eisawesome) | 1215 comments Mod
Oh, I did something similar in Algebra and I failed that assignment

message 32: by [deleted user] (new)

Yeah I hate when I zone out and suddenly I notice that everyone else is quietly working and suddenly I'm like wait is this a quiz, txt book stuff, worksheet what the heck are we doing is this going to wreck my grade!!!

message 33: by Erin, Director of Fun and Games (new)

Erin (eisawesome) | 1215 comments Mod
When I came back to room 103B, I was totally lost and I had no idea what was going on until everyone got up and left the room

message 34: by [deleted user] (new)

That's always helpful when the bell rings

message 43: by Sara (new)

Sara (saralawl) this is gonna sound totally lame but I need to get this out of my system haha. so, I'm graduating high school next year and the province where I live (QC)you finish in grade 11. then you have 2 years of CEGEP (it's college, like pre-university or whatever) and then you go to uni. and we have different programmes in cegep, depending on what you want to do later on. so if i want to go into med, i'll take the health science programme and so on. and we have these government exams in sec 4 (grade 10) that basically matter more than anything and cegeps will choose you based on that. so three days before my exams start, my dad died and i didn't do as well as I wanted (77% in math, 81% in science and 98% in history, nothing else really matters). if you want a good cegep you need to be in the 85-90s for math and science!!!! and i want a good cegep!!! so i can get an IB and go study in the states or in Europe or something!! but my grades are not good enough for international studies and it sucks! the worst part is i was even on my period that week. like, as if i wasn't in a bad enough situation, i actually started crying from pain during one of my exams.

yeah. all this to say i wish i was smarter because there are 0 chances I'll get accepted somewhere outside Canada and it sucks. also i was too lazy and angry at myself to use caps. so sorry.

message 44: by Sara (new)

Sara (saralawl) oh also, i've only gone to french schools. my english is great and all and i'm in the mother tongue program at school and everything, but i'll also have to take placement exams for english.

message 45: by Jordyn, Organizer Lieutenant (new)

Jordyn | 2757 comments Mod
Sara-First of all NOT lame at all! It helps to rant about what's going on.
So it sounds like you have high A's and one low B and only one C+!! The requirement of 85-90% is probably just an average of what they are looking for. Considering you have great grades everywhere else still makes them want to accept you most likely. And Sara your not that far off! Don't say there are 0 chances because there's a good chance you can! It's not like you have all C's or anything.
I'm sure they also will accept the fact that your grade dropped a little because it was while grieving your father. And oh god periods suck!

(If I don't respond back again it's because I'm about to go on a plane)

message 46: by Sara (new)

Sara (saralawl) yeah, my other grades are 80-90s, but those are things like english, art, spanish, ethics, blablabla.

thank you :) i really hope so haha.

message 47: by Jordyn, Organizer Lieutenant (new)

Jordyn | 2757 comments Mod
There is still a chance! If they were to compare you to someone who has the same math and science grade but lower grades everywhere else they would go with you (if it's anything like applying to college)

No problem! I hope i was helpful.

message 48: by [deleted user] (new)

At Sara. I know all about French schools I have a few cousins that go there and my teacher has explained the system pretty well. For one in the USA they average your scores so if you moved here you'd be in better hands. Your dad has died you deserve something good to happen to you. I'd pray about it(I'm Christian). Don't worry I'm sure everything will turn out okay. Maybe there was a reason you didn't go to a Bette ceprep like after you graduate you might meet a hansome young rich doctor who you fall in love with;)

message 49: by [deleted user] (new)

And what Jordyn said should also make sense. You got almost a perfect score on one subject

message 50: by Sara (new)

Sara (saralawl) haha maybe. i still HAVE to go to one (Bette Ceprep????) because I want to go to university, but I was hoping to go to a really good one haha. my over-achieving middle eastern family doesn't get my total average-ness, but whatever.

i'm just stressed out because i'm going to have to make big decisions soon and i don't want my options to be closed. i could always go to universities in my city like McGill or the University of Montreal, but i like to reach high haha.
