Rachel Gunter It's been made into a film too so fingers crossed we enjoy it! :)

message 5: by Karrah (new)

Karrah (karrahann) I just started reading last night but I would love to discuss the book with y'all!

message 6: by Connie (new)

Connie (proseandconnie) | 481 comments I may be a little late to start reading this one, but I'll be sure to get to it ASAP :)

message 7: by Karrah (new)

Karrah (karrahann) Has anyone finished? I finished a few days ago and it would be nice to chat about it

message 8: by Karrah (new)

Karrah (karrahann) Yeah that would be great! What did you think about the book? I was actually really hesitant to start Maze Runner because it didn't seem like it would be that good and the first few chapters didn't jump out at me and it was kind of boring but as it progressed I couldn't put the book down and I really need to buy the second book because I'm curious in what happens next

Karrah (karrahann) Honesty I don't know if I have a favorite, I kind of liked all of them the same except for Gally and Alby but everyone else was pretty mutual

Connie (proseandconnie) | 481 comments Oh my gosh, I completely forgot to post on this thread *facepalms* MY APOLOGIES.

Due to school starting I've been reading pretty slow and am still on Chapter 12. (view spoiler)

Karrah (karrahann) Has anyone seen the movie?

message 12: by Connie (new)

Connie (proseandconnie) | 481 comments I did! It was fantastic. They did have to change some stuff, but all of them were smart choices that still more or less stuck to the main plot of the book. Teresa and Thomas's romance-ish relationship was not played up, to my great relief. The cast was great (especially Thomas Brodie-Sangster, who played Newt). The Grievers didn't look the way I imagined them to, but they were pretty awesome, haha. Overall a thrilling, engaging movie that can also be enjoyed perfectly by those who haven't read the book.

Karrah (karrahann) Oh haha I guess I was the only one who didn't like the movie!

alessia (classick) Why don't you like it? Was there anything wrong? There were some parts I still don't get, but I found the movie great. It did justice to the book of course, and maybe did even better. Sometimes I think the movie makes a tad bit more sense than the book.

message 15: by Karrah (new)

Karrah (karrahann) I just didn't think the movie followed the book to be honest

message 16: by alessia (new)

alessia (classick) Yeah, it didn't. But their escape made more sense to me in the movie, so I'd give the movie a few points for that.

Totally agreed-- things changed in the movie, but they a) stuck to the general idea of the book, and b) made a lot of sense in regards to the film as a whole.

If you're interested, you guys can read my full review of the movie here! :)
