Susan Hu The theme of the book is resistance. The resistance of individual character, Equality, against the society. It's the contrast between two different ideologies.

Susan Hu Today, in the advocation of collectivism, in our country at least, one's existence of this society needs the foundation of the masses. Everyone has to be needed by others to embody the realization of one's self worth.

Susan Hu In "Anthem", Ann Lande depicted a highly centralized society for us. In a highly centralized society, human beings have no names but code names. Everything must be arranged. From education to work, reproduction and death, there is no individual in this society.
