Hi all. What book have you just finished - or tried to? Did you like it? Why or why not?

I finished Absolute Power Absolute Power and it was interesting in the beginning and got better as I continued to read. 4 Stars!

I just finished Allegiant, the last in the Divergent trilogy. I liked it, but not as much as the first two books in the trilogy (there was way less action, and the plot line was kind of disappointing).
I'm now reading a Leningrad: State of Siege, since I am also a big history nerd.

I just finished Four by Veronica Roth and it was really short but I liked it a lot. It was fun being able to see things from Tobias' view. There was also some narration from Tobias in Allegiant too which I thought added a lot to the story.

I didn't like the second book as much. I thought Tris was a bit too eager to face death but all in all I like the Divergent series.

I just finished Ruin and Rising by Leigh Bardugo. I loved the whole series.

I just read _The Butterfly and the Violin_, historical fiction about WWII (a time period I absolutely love reading about.) It was slightly cheesy in a few places, but overall it was great.

I've finished House Rules by Jody Picoult last night. Mixed feelings!

I started, but didn't finish, Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card. Found it very disappointing.

I just finished The Accidental Duchess by Madeline Hunter. I enjoyed it and just posted my review.

Taran Wanderer, by Lloyd Alexander. An amazing series, but this one was probably the dullest entry in the saga. Such beautifully written prose for a YA novel.

I just finished The Day After Tomorrow by Allan Folsom. It was pretty good. Being a medical student, I understood most of the complex terms used in the novel.

I just finished The Fault in our Stars and I loved it.

I finished Horns by Joe Hill yesterday. It was a brilliant book, very well thought out, and cleverly written :)

After reading Donna Tarrt's 3rd book, "The Goldfinch," I was so in awe, I immediately read her 2nd book, "The Little Friend." Now I'm reading her 1st book, "The Secret History." All incredible.

Delirium by Lauren Oliver and I didn't like it much.

I finished fallen star by Jessica Sorensen I love it and I have to say you yes the person reading this you should read it

I just finished Ugly Love yesterday and I'd give it 5 stars. Anything by Colleen Hoover I'd read.

Hi Mary, I'd agree with you about the Divergent series. I got totally into it with the first one but by the time I got to the 3rd book, I felt like it was just blah! I was disappointed how the book ended. Reading the other thoughts about the series, you and I are not the only ones who felt that way about the series.
I have to go back and see what I read last. LoL. I just jump from book to book once I'm done. I can tell you that I'm reading The Borgias- The Hidden History by G.J. Meyer.

I just stopped reading Carsick. It was amusing but not enough to keep me interested.

just finished reading The Great Gatsby by F.S. Fitzgerald. liked it a lot. it was interesting to read about people, their lives and relationships.

Had to return Dr. Sleep. It has too many pages left to finish in one or two sittings and it was overdue by two days. I'll take it out again after I finish Red Mist, Mr. Mercedes, and watching The Shining. (Three times! It is the original with Jack Nicholson and Shelley Duvall.)

I just finished A Twisted Faith by Gregg Olsen. That was the first true crime I have read in awhile. Very interesting book. Couldn't believe those women fell for him the way they did. He had to be a smooth talker. Started Cat & Mouse by James Patterson. Trying to catch up on this series. Have a few to go!!

I just finished The Rembrandt Affair. This is the 6th of Silva's books I've read and by far the best so far.

Started but could not finish The Birth of Venus. Not in the mood for it maybe? It's on my Kindle, so maybe will give it another try later.

Listening toDead End Gene Pool: A Memoir on audio. The author is from a branch of the Vanderbilt family. It's a pretty funny listen so far.

I finished Jeffery Deaver's XO yesterday, and I enjoyed the plot. It had several twists I did not anticipate, and ended on a slight cliffhanger. Trouble is, I'm unsure as to when I will read #4 in the series! I read the first 3 for an A-Z challenge on here.

I'm starting Heart-Shaped Box today as a buddy read, and as my birthday start (its my birthday tomorrow but we have plans all day!) and am also reading The Originals which is interesting so far..

I just finished two books - Feast of Fates by Christian A. Brown - really enjoyed it and am looking forward to the second book in the series. The other was The Manhattan Puzzle by Laurence O'Bryan - it was good but I didn't enjoy it nearly as much.

I just finished Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell, which blew me away, of course. It was an absurdly human novel that didn't have your "average" female/male protagonists Now I'm on Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver, which I hope I can survive through based on the recurring promises that the MC is snotty.

I just finished Kim By Rudyard Kipling. Didn't like it or post a review and don't intend to read a Kipling book again.

Currently reading The Dalek Project a Doctor Who graphic novel and it is much better than Kipling

I just finished reading Foundation by Isaac Asimov. I loved it and intend to complete the Foundation series.

Currently I am reading A Tale of Two Cities, and really falling in love with Dickens.

I just finished Waiting for Harvey by Lydia North. Though it isn't my normal genre, this ghostly story was great and I gave it a 5 star review!

I just finished Shotgun Lovesongs by Nickolas Butler. It was good. It was told in 5 different voices. Now I'm listening to The Time Keeper by Mitch Albom.

I enjoyed the series also, but like you found the third less developed than the first two.

I love A Tale of Two Cities. I read it almost every year. His imagery is embedded so deep, every read creates new appreciation and understanding. I'm running out of space in the margins for my notes. :)

i want to read the divergent series but a lot of books to read before then.

I just finished Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris. Absolutely loved it. Now I am reading Living Dead in Dallas by her. I think I am going to just fly through this series!

I just finished reading Doctor Sleep by Stephen King, the first 100-ish pages were rather slow for me, but the closer to the end I got the more I got dragged into the story, after reading it I wish I read the first book in the series instead of just the film, but I still really enjoyed it and would defiantly recommend it!

I've just finished The happy prisoner by Monica Dickens (Charles's granddaughter. She went into the family business, and wrote!) The book is set at the end of the Second World War, in a large house in the country, where the son of the family is bedridden as he recovers from war wounds; we see his family and their friends through his eyes. This gives Dickens a vehicle for lots of different character studies. As she does character well, it's a good read.

Just finished Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? and I absolutely loved it. The ending was just perfect for, and PKD really had a way of keeping me latching onto Deckard's own fear of being an android.

Now onto Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch

One of my favorite books ever. And the title is pure genius by itself. To me, at least, it is one of those books you will never forget, no matter how long ago you may have read it. I also think it was ahead of it time especially when I read other books/novels set in a dystopian world, it is still almost exactly as described by the author years ago.

Just finished "Captain Marvel: Higher, Further, Faster" a graphic novel that I gave 3 stars to. It was a great sci-fi story but the superhero wasn't much to my liking but it was well written - superhero aside - and as long as the writer keeps the good sci-fi elements I can see myself liking this series.

Totally. It's one of those creepy prediction books, like the first time I read Final Blackout and I didn't realize that he wrote it before WWII, because it was a post-WWII book.

My best friend just borrowed Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?from me and finished it last night. It's contagious.
