I just finished Stone of Tears for a different group’s discussion, and hope to start Semiosis for our group read this weekend. After that, it will be The Bone Doll's Twin for another group’s discussion and probably one of the novellas of The Expanse.

Actually I am reading this version:

Next on my list is Foundation's Edge and Foundation and Earth.

Started Captain Vorpatril's Alliance

I am now reading A Deepness in the Sky.
I still have one more Foundation book: Foundation and Earth, to read in the near future.

Ooh, I really liked that book. Interested to see what you think!

I’ve read:
The Bone Doll's Twin, 9/10, excellent! Excited to read the next 2 books in this trilogy.
Passage to Dawn, 5/10, so-so. The Drizzt books are getting ridiculous, IMO.
Not Less Than Gods, 8/10, Edward Alton-Bell’s more thorough backstory.
The Ship Errant, 6/10, OK, but less captivating than I had hoped.
The Vital Abyss (8/10) and Strange Dogs (4/10), novellas of The Expanse. Obviously, I liked one far better than the other!
Currently out of genre with The Golden Horn, book one of The Last Viking trilogy.

After the sad news abut Anthony Bourdain I am now reading
A Cook's Tour: In Search of the Perfect Meal

Havent got around to reading this but I really enjoyed Lynn Flewelings stuff

Also in the middle of reading all Hugo nominated novelettes. A Series of Steaks is fantastic.

Count me in. I am still considering to continue with the series or not.
I'm in end-of-school-year-crunch mode, which usually finds me re-reading old favorites and this year is no different. I'm currently revisiting Valdemar with Winds of Fate.

All three books are different, Deepness is a prequel and its good, the last book he published The Children of the Sky is the weakest of the three. It takes place after the events of Fire and it felt to me at the time that it was part of a larger story, good but felt there should of been more
Regarding Vernor Vinge’s Zones of Thought series, I loved the first two, although A Fire Upon the Deep was more challenging for me to understand. I gave 5 stars to it and A Deepness in the Sky, and 4 to the third book, The Children of the Sky. My review of the third book stated: “A slow start and some convoluted story-telling with an unsatisfying ending, but so many wonderful concepts and some unique characters.

Vacation 2nd week of July. I'm going to try to get caught up on my text books in my queue which have been suffering. Well ok, I'm hoping to at least. :D

I finished The Golden Horn by Poul Anderson, 6/10. I have loved many of his books, but this was so-so. Then I read The Silent Blade by R.A. Salvatore, one of the better Drizzt books, 7/10. Last night I finished The Ship Avenged by S.M. Stirling, 6/10, a good adventure but I found it hard to care about most of the characters and their fate. My favorite was the ship’s computer/AI, Rand.
Since I will be on vacation for 2 weeks next month, with intermittent online access and reading time limited to airports and airplanes, I think I will get a jump on the books I am reading for various discussions in July: for a different Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ group: Blood of the Fold by Terry Goodkind and Hidden Warrior by Lynn Flewelling; and for this group, A Discovery of Witches, All Systems Red, and a reread of Assassin's Apprentice.

Starting The Scar by China Mieville.

ooooh You are in for a treat, very unusual and good book

I am reading this one before A Fire Upon the Deep, because some of my friends are reading it now.

Fully worth 5 stars!

BTW, with hindsight as your guide you can see the darkness in him that eventually took him
Started, well almost done All Systems Red
I liked the book so I went looking for the rest, and for Novella's they are expensive

Seriously. On the ebook side it was $3 for the first, $10 for the rest. For around 150 pages. I don't care how good it is, it isn't going to happen.
Maybe if the prices eventually fall.
