Leave your thoughts here about Wuthering Heights, whether you've read it before or as you read it throughout the month :)

I've never read it before and can't wait to get into it! It sounds so dark

Кристияна | Kristiana (bkrissi) | 6 comments I started reading the book yesterday and I'm loving it so far. Surprisingly, It is an easy read and the story is really intriguing.

I've just started it now, finding it so intriguing too! I love how it's told from outside characters' perspectives who are trying to find out about Heathcliff. Side note though, boy oh boy does Emily Bronte like commas 😂Has that stood out to anyone else? It bothered me for the first few pages but I'm used to it now haha

I started it yesterday and I'm really enjoying it so far, it's very interesting!

Кристияна | Kristiana (bkrissi) | 6 comments I didn't end up enjoying this book. The beginning and the ending was great, but I got bored after chapter 13. I'm not sure why I didn't like it. It's weird because I thought it has the potential to become one of my favorites. I do love books that are character driven and I usually don't mind if all of the characters are evil/annoying/absolutely hateable ... but whatever the reason was, I didn't love Wuthering Heights and I had to force myself to finish it. Hope all of you have a better experience with this read.

Oh that's a shame! I don't think I'm that far through yet, probably still in the beginning ish, still enjoying it at the moment. But yeah all of the characters do seem totally evil haha

Deanna | 6 comments Does anyone want to speculate on how Mr. Heathcliff made his fortune? I have thought about it whenever I have read the book. Based on his character I rarely think it's anything very upstanding. Perhaps that's only me. Any speculation while reading?

Oh I hadn't considered that!! Good question. I wouldn't put anything past him 🤔

I have always presumed it was through (view spoiler)

Deanna | 6 comments Yes those were my thoughts too. Perhaps even a marriage at some point in his past. Seems all possible/likely... Hope your all enjoying the book.

Kelly Martin (kellymartinbooks) | 6 comments Oh! I always wondered where he got his money. I guess I always thought that he just... got it lol. He's a smart man. There's not telling where it came from. I would assume nothing very "upstanding"

I just finished reading the book and I really really enjoyed it even though the characters were so easy to dislike 😂

I at first thought it was some 'this isn't a scam but really it is' kind of thing (like pyramid schemes now) but after having finished it who knows. Maybe he married someone sick to acquire their fortune, was a pirate, stole it outright (though I doubt that), something not good that involves manipulating people to do what he wants so he can get what he wants. I don't think he was in the military because I highly doubt that he would be able to stand someone being in control of him.

message 17: by Deanna (new)

Deanna | 6 comments That's a good point about the military. Heathcliff never would have managed that.

Shannon (musingsofacat) I did a review here if anybody is interested :)
