Cas | 2 comments Hello all,

I was wondering if you all could help me! I have the most trouble finding engaging books. I'm really into historical fiction... For example I LOVE Anne Rice's the Vampire Chronicles... She has such a way of depicting cultures, the arts, and time periods. I also Really liked Legends of The Fall. I just wrapped up Alias Grace on Netflix and I found it really interesting... I think that time period is very interesting. I also loved Downton Abbey.

Books I've liked:
Legends of the Fall
The Sookie Stackhouse Novels
Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep
Dracula
Anne Rice - The Vampire Chronicles

Thanks in advance!

I have not! I'll add that to my list! I'm trying to break away from fantasy a bit, and get more into the Alias Grace, Legends of the Fall groove... But this souns interesting! Thank you!

Sally | 10 comments There are two historical mystery series I really love. The first books in each series are The Hangman's Daughter and Dissolution. The Hangman's Daughter series takes place in Germany right after the Hundred Years War. The Shardlake series that begins with Dissolution is during the reign of Henry VIII. Both are well researched and well written.

Linda Bridges (lindajoyb) | 820 comments Have you tried the Chelsea Quinn Yarbro books? Her main character is a vampire, the books are well researched for historical accuracy as far as the time periods go, and there are quite a few books in the series.
