Jessi (honeybeealley) | 7 comments I read this book sometime around 2005-2008.

It is a book where some people, I think most were teens but there may have been a couple of adults find themselves stranded on this huge planet and trying to survive. The planet's environments keep changing and then one of the teens recognizes that they're scenes from modern art when it changes into a Bosch painting. They say something like "Bosch painted Hell" or "Bosch, he painted Hell".

I think it might have been the first book in a series but I'm not sure because I never read the rest of the series.

SPOILERS

The planet actually turns out to be a giant spaceship that is projecting the environments. There are these parasites that I think are green worms that infect the whole body and one person gets them and has to have his arm or leg, I can't remember which, chopped off immediately. The spaceship is reset to it's actual environment and then there's water everywhere at first and then they finally find land.

Yes! It was both of those books. My brain mashed it into one book in my memory. Thank you so much for figuring it out for me :)
