Robert Dallmann (robert_dallmann) | 105 comments " Judge Not! " - These are two of the most recognized words in the Bible. What do they mean?

* Many unbelievers quote them in an effort to divert attention from their sinful life styles.

* Many believers think they mean that we should not call for repentance from sin.

But what does this really mean? What is the context?

What do you think this passage means?

Robert Dallmann (robert_dallmann) | 105 comments The problem with "Judge Not" is hypocritical judgment... not just judgment. God tells us that we are supposed to judge. Lets look at this passage...

Matthew 7:1-5

7 Judge not, that ye be not judged.

2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?

5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

* Judgment #1 - judge yourself and with God's help remove the log from your own eye

* Judgment #2 - after doing so, you will see clearly to judge the speck in your brother's eye, and help him remove the speck

* God's glorious end results - both pieces of wood are removed and both brothers are restored to wholeness!

Praise the Name of Jesus!
