I am not sure if my edition works for the cover task:

Turkey Day Murder (A Lucy Stone Mystery) by Leslie Meier

What do you think?

message 252: by Melissa (new)

Melissa | 3744 comments Thanks Beth.

Rina - I'll ask.

message 253: by Rina (new)

Rina | 663 comments I have also found
Turkey and Terror (The Diner of the Dead, #6) by Carolyn Q. Hunter and Thanksgiving Pizza Murder (Papa Pacelli's Pizzeria, #19) by Patti Benning on KU.
I think they both will work, won't they? If yes, I can switch to any of them.

message 254: by Melissa (new)

Melissa | 3744 comments Rina the mods said ok to your book for Thanksgiving on cover. But either of those would work too so whatever you want is fine.

message 255: by Melissa (new)

Melissa | 3744 comments For Week 4 we've received INDIAN as our word.

message 256: by Rina (new)

Rina | 663 comments Thanks Melissa!

message 257: by Carrie (new)

Carrie (boombaby13) | 319 comments Oh boy a whole week with only four letters to work with, this will be fun. LOL

message 258: by Melissa (last edited Nov 15, 2018 06:20AM) (new)

Melissa | 3744 comments haha I know! But at least we have a lot of chances to fill 'I' for the Toughest Letters :D

Sunny (sunnyisreading) | 340 comments How is everyones week going? :D

message 260: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer Barstad (maidenoflight) Good for me. Almost done with Gone with the Wind

Carrie (boombaby13) | 319 comments Sunny wrote: "We are all done for this week right? :)"

Time change threw me off a bit, thought there was another half hour to go but it looks like we're into week 4 already. Hope everyone that didn't get posted can squeeze in under the I/N/D/A we're limited to this week.

message 265: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer Barstad (maidenoflight) I am sorry that i didn't get a chance to post my completed book. I have had family issues the past couple days that needed to be dealt with.

If you finished it after the cut off it can go towards this week if it will fit the letters in some way.

message 267: by Nicole (new)

Nicole P | 1834 comments Would this count for Indian being on the cover: Life of Pi by Yann Martel

message 268: by Melissa (new)

Melissa | 3744 comments Thanks for updating everything Sunny!!!! Sorry I didn't get on this weekend - something came up and I couldn't get to the computer.

Jennifer It's ok we all understand.

message 269: by Melissa (new)

Melissa | 3744 comments Let's try to get as many books as possible this week!

message 270: by Wolf (Alpha) (new)

Wolf (Alpha) | 167 comments We are on Indian correct? I have an N, a D, and a I

message 271: by Melissa (new)

Melissa | 3744 comments Yes we are.

message 272: by Sunny (new)

Sunny (sunnyisreading) | 340 comments No problem at all Melissa! :)

message 273: by Sunny (new)

Sunny (sunnyisreading) | 340 comments What is everybody reading currently? Are you enjoying it? If yes/no, why? :D

message 274: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer Barstad (maidenoflight) Paper Towns, Gone with the Wind and Einstein's Theories of Relativity and Gravitation

I am enjoying the first two but not the last one. In fact the last one might take me a long time to finish because it is so boring and dry.

message 275: by Beth (last edited Nov 23, 2018 10:48PM) (new)

Beth | 503 comments I've started The Illustrated Book of Sacred Scriptures for the letter I. It's interesting so far. It's 175 pages, so I think I will be able to fit in a second book this week.

message 276: by Andrea (new)

Andrea (ajareads) | 7 comments Hey everyone ! I’m sorry I haven’t been very involved in this . I am not sure if I have been replaced or not . It is towards the end :/ my reading slump has been horrible ! I haven’t finished anything the last month at all .

message 277: by Melissa (new)

Melissa | 3744 comments Hey Andrea - I will check with the Mods to see if you can still be involved. The criteria was to finish 1 book a week so I'm not sure. I'll let you know!

I'm listening to Breaking Dawn and reading Spinning Silver. I've read Breaking Dawn before so it's a good book for me to listen to at work. Spinning Silver is really interesting. I loved the author's previous book Uprooted.

message 278: by Anita Reads (new)

Anita Reads | 1677 comments Hey I forgot to update some books last week that I finished on Friday. Can we use them for this weeks word, or does the book have to be finished the week the word is going?

I finsihed another book yesterday and so I've added that.

message 279: by Sunny (new)

Sunny (sunnyisreading) | 340 comments I'm pretty sure that only the books finished in the current week can be used for the same week :) Too bad though.

message 280: by Anita Reads (new)

Anita Reads | 1677 comments Yeah I figured, but I wanted to ask to make sure. I had a super busy weekend and so I completely forgot to add them.

message 281: by Nicole (new)

Nicole P | 1834 comments Would Raiders from the North (Empire of the Moghul, #1) by Alex Rutherford help for word as a genre? It has a MPG of Cultural > India. Would that work or not?

Carrie (boombaby13) | 319 comments Nicole wrote: "Would Raiders from the North (Empire of the Moghul, #1) by Alex Rutherford help for word as a genre? It has a MPG of Cultural > India. Would that work or not?"

It's tagged Indian 4 times on the first page so it should count.

message 283: by Beth (new)

Beth | 503 comments I finished my book. There's a chance I can fit in another one before the end of this week, but I'm not sure.

Here's hoping. I did read it last night :)

message 285: by Sunny (new)

Sunny (sunnyisreading) | 340 comments We have about an hour and a quarter left of this week! :)

message 286: by Sunny (new)

Sunny (sunnyisreading) | 340 comments If anyone has any last minute entries to post this would be the time! :)

message 287: by Carrie (new)

Carrie (boombaby13) | 319 comments I've learned to just start on the next week and not to try for those last minute reads. LOL

message 288: by Wolf (Alpha) (new)

Wolf (Alpha) | 167 comments I posted 1 more book for this week. It has an Indian on the cover, so it counts for a bonus.

message 289: by Sunny (new)

Sunny (sunnyisreading) | 340 comments Just updated! :)

Team Shock...
The mods took 45 points away from your team as one of your books used for the bonus -word on the cover has 64 pages. ( Wolf's book) Minimum page count is 160 pages. Your book is way below the page requirement. 5 more points were removed for the book points.
Please make sure all books meet the minimum page requirement.

message 291: by Carrie (new)

Carrie (boombaby13) | 319 comments Hm... I'm curious being new to this group but I was under the impression you use the page count for the edition you read unless there wasn't one listed on that edition and there are tons of editions for that book over 160 pages.

message 292: by Wolf (Alpha) (new)

Wolf (Alpha) | 167 comments Dang. The version I read had more than 160 pages.

message 293: by Sunny (new)

Sunny (sunnyisreading) | 340 comments I put the book down as the edition Wolf had shelved - I checked and it had more than 160 pages.

message 294: by Rina (new)

Rina | 663 comments But now it has 64 pages...

message 295: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer Barstad (maidenoflight) So what is our next word? Doesn't the new word start today?

message 296: by Carrie (new)

Carrie (boombaby13) | 319 comments Jennifer wrote: "So what is our next word? Doesn't the new word start today?"

We have STOCKINGS this week. :)

It's not like the points would win us the challenge or anything but I'm truly curious on the rules since there are lots of book out there that have some counts under the limit and some over, would the default also have to be over or only our edition??

My guess is that mods check not only editions that are linked in the google sheet, but also the editions that are posted in the read books thread. And there is an edition with 64 pages (in this post)

Hm, well that's also something I would do too unfortunately if that is what they went by. I don't search out different editions either and just do the lazy way and use the default. :(

message 300: by Melissa (new)

Melissa | 3744 comments I've emailed the Mods about Wolf's Indian on cover book.

Wolf - the book you had for stocking on cover doesn't work. They are socks not stockings.
